KnoxComedy is an organization founded by Matt Ward to bring underground comedy to the masses of Knoxville. KnoxComedy works with some of the most talented comics in the area and other areas. We have a great group of comics that are ready to work for you!

According to Wikipedia a roast is an event in which an individual is subjected to a public presentation of comedic insults, praise, outlandish true and untrue stories, and heartwarming tributes, the implication being that the roastee is able to take the jokes in good humor and not as serious criticism or insult, and therefore, show their good nature. It is seen by some as a great honor to be roasted, as the individual is surrounded by friends, fans, and well-wishers, who can receive some of the same treatment as well during the course of the evening. The party and presentation itself are both referred to as a roast. The host of the event is called the roastmaster. Anyone who is honored in such a way is said to have been "roasted".

A KnoxComedy roast is the most talented local comedians bringing the power of a roast to you. Its the perfect way to lovingly rib your loved ones or important people in life who in the eyes of their peers have earned respect and honor. And what better way to say I respect you than with some well researched jokes.

This is perfect for a boss, recent promotion, convention, birthday, bachelor/bachelorette party, or any big event. Or maybe just a welcome surprise!

We can provide you with a sound system and (if needed) help with the location!

Why do this? Because its an out of the ordinary surprise and its fun! The tradition of the Friars Club roasts and the Dean Martin roasts are well known, why not bring a local version to your door? Who wouldn't want a night themed about them out of how much they are loved and respected!

After contacting us its important to us to really get to know everything we can about the roastee, the people roasting them, and the people wanting to plan the event. We want as much info as we can so we can really make the jokes meaningful and as high quality as possible. As for the roasters making fun of each other, well we already know each other we hope to entertain you by making fun of ourselves. No one is above a good joke that works in our service, and we will gladly take the jokes!

The jokes can be as dirty as you want to allow them, we do NOT want to actually offend or insult anyone. This is an act of love, just done a little fun.

Influences

We are influenced by the traditions of the Friar's Club, the Dean Martin Roasts, and the roasts we have preformed on each other.
As far as the comics roasting each other, the comedians themselves influence the other comics.
Where the guest of honor being roasted is concerned, we will be influenced by the information you provide us and transforming it with our individual styles and spins on it.
Ideally we want to be influenced by you.

What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 45 - 120 minutes

You can expect a quality performance from experienced comedians roasting the roastee, each other, and any circumstances/audience/situations involved with the cause of the roast. We will stay in the boundaries you give us and deliver a high laugh load!
The experience should be one to be remembered really. You are probably already aware what a roast is by now if you clicked us, so the experience will be a quality roast by people who really want to make your roast as memorable as possible.
We would like to know as much about not only the guest of honor being roasted, but of the people who thought this plan up. We would like to know about the audience as well. We really just want to make the show as interactive as possible and as high quality as possible.

Additional Notes:
For an extra service we will see if our video assistant is available to film the roast for you. The deliverable can be negotiated.
We do have a mobile sound system.
Lighting can be figured out depending on location.
