I can't say enough great things about Amos Hopkins and The White Russians. My husband and I married in Louisville KY on May 5, 2012 (yes, Derby Day) on my parents horse ranch. It was a DIY Derby wedding, with all the southern trimmings.... including this wonderful Bluegrass Country Band. I hired Amos after reading reviews on his band online. I had never heard them play live nor had I been given any recommendations. Because I had to plan the wedding from our home in Los Angeles, all my communication with Amos had to be via email. I really had to trust that this band would be exactly what I was hoping for and oh! they were and so much more! Amos was very professional and answered all my emails quickly. He was precise and to the point, but also maintain a level of southern hospitality. He quickly learned the precessional song that i wanted him to play on his fiddle and it was one of the most beautiful moments of our ceremony. This band was one of the highlights of our wedding and I continue to get compliments on them to this day. You will be more than pleased if you hire this band! Awesome, totally awesome!
We had Amos and his band play for our rehearsal dinner on September 23, 2011. He delivered everything he said he would and more. The band was awesome and really made my rehearsal dinner very special. They arrived on time and were set up and played all night. They let us use their microphone for our speeches and even let some ladies sing vocals with them. They are very talented, sounded great and were great to work with. Besides, if you work with Amos, you will get to hear his amazing baritone voice! That was worth the price of admission! Hire 'em!
