Paula C Snyder as "Grandma Paula" offers a back-to-basics approach in kids entertainment & creative play. Paula performs nostalgic kids favorites (songs you and your parents may remember), original songs for kids, and engages children in creative, imaginative play, simple games, crafts, sing-along, and dance.

A soft mix of serious & silly, Paula's personality is warm & approachable. Her vocal music is accompanied with acoustic guitar for up-close & personal engagement. (Paula also self-accompanies with piano.) Utilizing available tools & supplies, Paula often creates as she goes!

Born in Detroit, MI, Paula now resides, performs & writes music in Raleigh, NC. An original kids/parent friendly CD called "Songs for My Granddaughters" is in the works.

Paula is a mother, grandmother, former Brownie leader, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a strong focus in Occupational Therapy and minor in Art. Many of her interests & skills were acquired during family time, when Dad took out the guitar for family sing-a-longs. Dad could make up a story, read signs backwards on the run, and used all kinds of tricks to keep the kids entertained. It's Paula's pleasure to replicate this family feeling with others.

Paula has worked with children, with the senior community, and in the health care fields through her music and the arts. What to Expect

Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 60 minutes

Up close and personal, Grandma Paula brings her guitar, engages with the guests, gives a little song history, sings or leads songs, tells stories, invites attendees to be involved/sway/dance, and does other spontaneous things. Grandma Paula draws & colors paper bag puppets, brings other simple projects when appropriate, prepares theme sets. Focused on back-to-basics nostalgic music, everyone should have some good, clean, educational fun.

Additional Notes:
Grandma Paula stays acoustic to be up close and personal. However, sound equipment is available for use in larger venues (then not as up close and personal). Grandma Paula accompanies herself with a guitar, but also plays piano. She can come as Grandma (or as herself - Soulfully Nostalgic Music with a Modern Flair).

Set/Song/Sequence List:
This varies per age group, occasion, etc. General simple kids songs, Grandma Paula prepares special theme sets and also writes her own music.

The length of set varies as well based on the ages and attention span of that age group. Duration of performances listed below (30-60 minutes) is based on the typical party length and attention span of young children. However, for open houses and festivals, multiple sets are appropriate. When performing for social occasions, families, or adults, 2 to 4 sets lasting about 45 minutes are appropriate.
