Waverly Community Celebration

The Waverly Community Picnic Committee would like to sends a BIG thank you to Marvina for a wonderful performance she delivered August 17th and 18th in Waverly, IL, with her tributes to Doris Day and Patsy Cline at our annual community celebration. On August 17th she performed a tribute to Doris Day at our Senior Center and it was truly a walk down memory lane. On August 18th, we had the honor of having Marvina escorted in our Parade riding in a vintage 1964 Ford convertible prior to her Patsy Cline performance which was a crowd pleaser. Marvina is truly a gifted vocalist and performer. I'm proud to say that I personally recommend her to any venue big or small. Thanks again Marvina for making our celebration one to remember.

I would like to say to the Waverly Community Picnic Committee and their President, Jeff Grimmett, how much Ray and I enjoyed performing at your annual celebration. Everyone was so helpful in getting our equipment set up and torn down for the Friday Doris Day Show and the seniors were an absolutely delightful audience. Your gracious hospitality in providing lunch and accomodations for Friday night were grately appreciated. Also a big thank you to Charlie for letting me ride in his vintage 1964 red Ford convertible in the Parade before the Patsy Cline Show and waving to all the townspeople. The people of Waverly, IL will always have a special place in my heart.

Touch of Class returns to Waseca, MN

Sunday afternoon the Waseca Middle School Auditorium was filled with the gentle voice of Marvina with her tribute show of the life of Patsy Cline. She had the audience remembering back to those golden years of Patsy Cline and if you closed your eyes you could hear & feel through Marvina that Patsy Cline was right there on stage. Marvina entertained all that attended through two sets of great music & entertainment. But she left the best for last by doing her rendition of "God Bless the USA" with the help of the VFW Marchers, Stage Crew, June's Got the Cash Band and the audiance. She brought every one to their feet. A Class Act and one talented and classy Lady. All should have the opportunity to hear Marvina sing.

I highly recommend this show!

I invited Marvina to do her Patsy Cline tribute show to entertain at my grandmother's 80th birthday. What a wonderful evening it turned out to be! Marvina is a wonderful singer and entertainer and one of the nicest women you will meet! My review could not say enough - Marvina's show is something you must experience for yourself. Chris, just want to thank you again for asking Ray and I to be part of your Grandmother's 80th birthday celebration. Your choice of venue, Steventon's Restaurant, overlooking the Mississippi River was fantastic. Actually I felt more like a member of your family than an entertainer. The highlight of the evening was when your Grandmother, Patty, sang "Stand By Your Man" with me. That night is a memory I will cherish forever!

Fantastic entertainment, Wonderful lady

Marvina you are the best. So many people who had the opportunity to see you perform at Friends of Barb Hostert Variety Knight Benefit, said they loved you. You are a dear lady and we thank you a million times. I have been passing your number. Hope to see you again, soon.

Tonight we experienced a wonderful talented woman. Marvina doing her Patsy Cline tribute. She was wonderful and the whole audience enjoyed her completely. She brought the complete crowd into her show and interaceted with the people in a very personal way. Before the show she tried to visit with each table. She has a wonderful personality and is very down to earth. We truly enjoyed her show. Dave and Sue Baldini

Dear Dave and Sue, I truly appreciate your comments on the Patsy Cline Tribute Show in Waseca on Sunday night and I am so happy that you enjoyed the show. I told Bill Johnson that the audience at the VFW Post 1642 were probably the best audience I have ever done my show for. I am usually a little apprehensive when I do a show for new people but after visiting with most of the audience before I began I realized that this was going to be a very special night and it surely was! I am truly blessed to be able to meet such wonderful people everywhere I perform. You have our heartfelt thanks. Marvina and Ray

As chairperson of the Entertainment Committee and Steering Committee member of the Festival of Trees, I highly recommend Marvina Bowker for your entertainment needs.
Marvina has entertained at the Festival of Trees since it's inception in 1990. The event was then held at the Rialto Square theatre in downtown Joliet. She was a main stage per-former for "Preview Night." This past year she was a main performer at "Grand Night", the opening evening party for sponsors, designers and the general public. Her performances are always excellent with a variety of music to suit any crowd. Because she is so personable, audiences adored her. She was featured this past year in a full page article in the Herald News about the opening night.
If you are looking for talent and personality, Marvina is for you. I, along with our Festival Steering Committee recommend her as an outstanding performer.
Sincerely,
Betty Reed

Dear Marvina and Ray,
Thank you for the musical program you presented at the Motorola Retirees' Club meeting in Schaumburg on Wed. July 18, 2007.
Marvina, you have a lovely voice and If Patsy Cline was listening she would certainly have applauded the job you did portraying her. You chose lovely country tunes and many in the audience commented that they liked hearing more about the background that went with them. We also enjoyed the audience participation with the impromptu maracan band and the guess the tune from the verse challange. I believe many of us will pay closer attention to song verses in the future. Thank you again for a very entertaining morning and we hope to have the opportunity of hearing from you again in the future.
Sincerely,
Rosalie Lindberg, Corresponding Secretary, Motorola Retirees' Club of Chicago

Marvina Bowker had an outstanding performance at The Meadows of Glen Ellyn for one of our Theme Dinners. Not only that but she came on very short notice which I really appreciated. I had other entertainment scheduled for this event but they had to cancel and she graciously agreed to fill in. She accommodated my needs and also personalized her program to satisfy a request of a resident. She has a beautiful voice and quite a bit of showmanship which the residents loved. I look forward to her return in a few months. I would highly recommend her anytime.

Dear Marvina,

We have been doing Ladies Night Out for the last five years. After your performance here in August I got a lot of Wow! That was terrific and similar comments. But my favorites were all the, That was the best Ladies Night Out event we have ever had, comments. Everyone had a great time and we are all looking forward to your appearance here again next year. The first time I heard Mavina sing I was spellbound...In my 55 years on radio I have never heard a warmer voice. Finally a female voice that interprets a song as only Sinatra could do. It has been my pleasure to play one song by Marvina on every show I do, and I am thrilled that I was permitted to introduce her the radio listening audience.
