Overview
The Wright People is an event staffing company, and we are a high-quality alternative to a full service caterer. We do not provide food or alcoholic beverages but we will work with you to arrange for it from your favorite store, restaurant, or anywhere else. Then we will do the rest. We will set up, serve, and clean up the party. We’ll also work with you and advise regarding equipment, vendors, venues, etc. We will keep the food warm or cold as needed, platter and plate it, serve it, clean up after.
We do sometimes partner with a Washington area caterer who will travel anywhere we do. We will happily put you in touch with him if you don't already have a source for food.

Tara, Rick and their team were amazing to work with. From the first time we spoke, we knew we could put our event in their hands. We were doing a DIY backyard wedding & reception with around 80 people and we needed some serious help! They were very organized and helped us through the planning process. We could not have done it without them. The staff was very professional and the event was seamless. It gave us such piece of mind to know that food was put away and areas clean so that we didn't have to worry about a thing the next day. We are so thankful for their help and would definitely hire them again!

The Wright People sent two good wait staff, Javier and Ariella? ( not sure of her name spelling) for my event. They took over and when changes were needed to set up they just made them and communicated well. They cleaned up great afterwards. They saved my feet. My feet thank you.
I have never hired help for parties, I always ran everything myself. I am now spoiled. I will definitely hire The Wright People for my next event!

We were thrilled with service we received from start to finish. The Wright People were absolutely wonderful. Every staff member was so efficient and so very kind and genuinely nice and friendly. Our guests loved them. The food was hot, replenished, and set out beautifully. The bartenders were quick and efficient, while still being friendly. Dishes were cleared, washed, and kitchen left clean. Owners came in prepared and we did not have one problem. Thank you.

Influences and inspiration
This is actually aimed more at musicians and other performers, but I'd like to list some influences on me and my company. I have been working in the catering industry since 1986, when I moved to Baltimore from New Orleans. From 1986 until about 1993 I worked part time for various of the better caterers in Baltimore. In 1993 I worked an Inauguration party in Washington and almost immediately started working for a few of the best, most prestigious and high end caterers in Washington. Among others, I worked for Design Cuisine, Susan Gage, and Occasions. From them I learned how to do this work as it should be done; with professionalism, attention to detail, and initiative. I've insisted on that level of service and attitude from my people ever since. I believe that if you don't want to do it as well as humanly possible while keeping a pleasant attitude you probably shouldn't be in this business.
I started The Wright People in October of 1996, mostly providing staff to some of the same caterers I worked for. Almost from the beginning, I was getting requests from private clients for servers and bartenders to assist them at their events at home which didn't require a caterer, and that's been mostly what we've evolved into over the years.
