August 7, 2025Puppet Connection is a mom and her kids putting on a very amateur puppet show. I hired them to do a puppet show for our summer camp kids who are ages 5 to 13. The show took place in our church worship center. They are nice people, but need a lot more rehearsal and a more comprehensive show. They also need to do their research and understand the material they are presenting. The main puppets in their presentation were Feebee and Jeffy, characters from SML, a Youtube channel that features puppets in a storyline that is definitely not for young children. Although there was nothing overtly inappropriate done at our show, there were certain inappropriate connotations that our older kids picked up on. When I asked the head of the Puppet Connection if she knew what these puppets were from, she claimed that she didn't. That she would present characters in her show with no knowledge of what they represent is shocking to me. The entire event was embarrassing for me and my staff!

Mrs. Dunk you book me at the last minute . Within 3 days before the show date. You didn't give me any detail about what you wanted the show to be about. On your MEMO you did mention age 4 to 9 years of age. Yes we did include Jeffy and Feebee but there wasn't anything that was inappropriate about it. We talk about animals and their habitat. just because Jeffy and Feebee was the characters in the show. Doesn't mean the show was inappropriate. I am sorry that it wasn't to your likeness, But the children really did enjoy the show. I always tell everyone to book 2 to 3 week in advance for a show. Once again if there anything I can do to . How I first started loving puppets or being a puppeteer. Is when I was working as an Art teacher in grade school. The school I have work in. Was a low function school. But the students and staff were great. The children at that school were so caring and loving despite the struggle they were facing at school or home. I wanted to put on a puppet show for the kid there. Some of the students there never heard of a puppet show, I wanted to make that happen for them. But that never happen. I said to myself when I do a show. I was going to invite them to my show. And that offer still stand today.
The stage , lighting, and sound has to be on point.

In the past we were proud of an accomplishment we achieved, thinking of our past success can help motivate us in achieving new successes now. Referencing our past positive experiences can be a healthy option for setting goals or in building optimal habits as we focus on our future. While a little reflection can be healthy and foster creativity, too much reflection or ruminating on past negative experiences can drift into obsession and lead to feeling stuck.
Well, I do provide my own equipment. But if you the client want me to use your own equipment that would be highly recommended.
