You’re in good hands!

At an event, I always arrive early. With the input of the event planner or the hosts, we will find the best place for me to set up.

Once we determine a spot where traffic will flow well, I can be set up in just a few minutes. You don’t have to supply anything. l bring all of my own equipment with the exception of three chairs (although I can accommodate you and bring chairs if necessary). My setup is only about 8’x8’ and includes my easel. No tables are necessary.

From that time on, I will be ready to draw and I will draw nonstop, except for scheduled breaks.

I draw an astonishing 30+ faces per hour and I’m known for my speed and likenesses. Each person will receive their caricatures right then.

At the end of my time I will check to make sure overtime is not desired. If it is I will get an ok from whomever hired me and continue drawing.

When done, I will collect my remaining fee and pack up and be out of the way within a few minutes.

I draw all kinds of people, all ages, and my goal is to make people LOVE their drawing. I LOVE my job and it shows!

Once upon a time, I was a little girl who dreamed about my own wedding day.

As a creative person, I was excited to plan every detail myself. When the day finally came, I decided to make all of my own wedding favors — delicate origami roses that I painstakingly folded by hand.

Imagine how crushed I was at the end of the night when I saw that most of them had been left behind.

That’s when I realized something brides discover all the time:
Finding a meaningful wedding favor that guests actually keep is harder than it looks.

That’s why wedding caricatures are different.

A flattering caricature is something most people have always wanted but rarely get the chance to experience. When guests sit down for a drawing, they laugh, watch the artwork come to life, and leave with a one-of-a-kind keepsake they’ll hang on their wall or refrigerator for years.

They don’t leave it behind.

I started Caricatures by Kathy to make people happy. Over the last 27+ years I’ve drawn thousands of guests at weddings, corporate events, trade shows, and private parties — from Las Vegas conventions to Gulf Coast celebrations.

What makes my weddings special is that I don’t just create favors — I create an experience.

Guests gather around to watch the drawing happen. I chat with them, keep the energy fun and relaxed, and even the shyest guest ends up smiling by the time the portrait is revealed.

And when I turn the drawing around for the big reveal?

That’s the magic.

There’s only one of me, and popular dates book quickly.

I bring all my own supplies. I will bring my easel and will not need a table.
Three chairs are preferred but not necessary. I can provide them if needed.

No other equipment is needed.

A space of about 6x6’ is required for my indoor setup. 10x10’ is required for my outdoor setup.

If the event is outdoors I can provide a tent or use yours.

If your event is outdoors and it will grow dark over the performance time, please let me know ahead of time so that I can provide lights. I bring rechargeable LEDS.

If there will be other entertainment at your event or things for guests to do, please indicate when you hire me. This helps me to plan how to best serve your guests.

If client wants preprinted paper there will be additional fees. Ask for a quote before booking. I also have many other ADD-ons, please ask about them.

I will arrive at least 15 minutes early to set up. Setup is quick. Nothing is needed from the client except for a 8’x8’ space and good lighting and if possible 3 chairs.

If for any reason I am late, Iagree to either give a reduction in fee, prorated to the nearest quarter hour, or may offer to stay later to make up for time lost, the choice being up to the client. (I make an extra effort to arrive early so it’s very rare if this happens)

If I do not show up for any reason, including due to an act of God (hurricane, car accident, etc) i agree to refund all monies including the deposit, minus any fees (such as Venmo or PayPal fees), including any travel fees if applicable. (Note: In my 25 year career this has never happened).

If the client decides to cancel for any reason other than an act of God, the down payment will be returned - up to one month in advance. If the client cancels later than this, the down payment will be forfeited.

If there’s an act of God, and client must cancel (hurricane, accident, etc) I will reschedule if available or refund down payment (minus any fees such as Venmo or PayPal) promptly. Rain or other normal bad weather does not constitute an act of God.

If the client must reschedule and I am available, i will reschedule. If I am not available to reschedule I reserve the right to keep any downpayment.

Contingency for bad weather:
I will do everything in my power to make sure client gets their monies worth and if the event is outdoors, and there is inclement weather, i will move inside or under cover if at all possible, and I will continue to draw until the end of my contracted time. If there is inclement weather and I must cut short my performance (for example due to lightning storm or flooding) and no indoor or covered area is available to move to, I will retain all monies.
No refunds will be given due to rain.
It is up to the client to make sure there is a rain contingency.

I will bring all of my own equipment with the exception of three folding chairs. If there is a failure of said equipment I will hold the client harmless and client will hold me harmless.

I am at the clients disposal during the allotted time mentioned in this contract and if i finishes early I am willing to draw anyone that would like a drawing or draw from photos until the allotted time is over. Client is responsible to transmit this information to guests.
This is for private parties only not public events.

Client should understand that having a sign up list typically doesn’t work as well as first come first served. It cuts way down on my speed as we have to go find the people instead of them waiting there to get drawn. If the client insists upon this method anyway, client is responsible to
assign a volunteer to gather the people.

I am a family caricaturist and ask that people keep their requests “clean.”

I may agree to stay later upon agreement of both parties, prorated to the nearest quarter hour, with written permission signed below by both parties. Full Payment is to be issued upon completion of services.
