Before becoming a nutritionist, Kelly trained in musical theatre. Throughout her acting career, Kelly performed on stages across North America and Europe. She brings that same energy to every public speaking event.

I grew up in a small town, then moved to the big city (a couple of them, actually) to become an actor/singer/dancer.
I’m the last person I would have expected to become a nutritionist.
For nearly two decades, food was about fear. I spent most of my life fighting with it, running from it, and ignoring it altogether. If it had nutritional value, I didn’t want anything to do with it. I didn’t cook, or even touch food. Food was the enemy, and I was terrified of it.
When I made the decision to REALLY recover from my eating disorder, I had to make friends with food. I learned to see its value beyond calories and numbers. I learned that food could have benefits for my body AND for my soul. I learned that food didn’t need to be a fight – it was possible to find peace with food. I became a nutritionist to help other people find that same peace.
Food is not a moral issue. It is neither good, nor bad: it’s just fuel.
A calorie is just a calorie: it does not determine your worth.

Kelly is a Toronto-based holistic nutritionist specializing in eating disorder recovery and food freedom. She is also a public speaker and a writer, raising eating disorder awareness, and helping people heal their relationship with food and their bodies. She trained at The Institute of Holistic Nutrition, Sheridan Institute, and the California Pacific College of the Performing Arts.
