We hired The Big Quiz Thing for a trivia event at the Google office in NYC for about 70 people. From the time I first reached out to Noah, he went above and beyond to provide the best experience for our group. He asked me a lot of good probing questions in order to create a show that would appeal to our audience and offered to customize it accordingly. He was always quick to respond to my emails and generally really easy to work with.
The night of the event, we had some technical issues, but Noah and Eric were total pros and made it work at the last minute. The purpose of our event was to bring people from different departments together to get to know each other and we had a lot of people who had never done trivia before, so it was not an easy crowd. However, Noah and Eric got everyone pumped up when the show started and kept the energy high throughout.
I've been to around 10 different trivia shows at different bars, but this was by far the best and most entertaining game I've played. Noah is a real showman and has great rapport with Eric; they were really genuinely funny and never veered into cheesy territory. The game itself was fantastic, with creative questions and some non-traditional rounds, like a video round where they played clips from movies but the audio playing was from a different movie and you had to guess both movies playing at once. The wide variety of questions was really valuable, as we had a really diverse group and it kept everyone engaged and feeling like they had something to contribute to their team. Between rounds, they played music and gave people enough time to mingle and grab more drinks and food, and the timing of the whole thing was perfect.
We've had a lot of events like this at Google but this had the best response of any that I've organized or attended. People really had an awesome time and asked that we bring The Big Quiz Thing back for another event.

Q: How does it work?
A: The basic Big Quiz Thing format is team trivia. Each squad receives an answer pad; the quizmaster presents the questions, and teams collaborate to write down their best guess at answers: Everyone gets to play. Teams can be any size, the game can consist of nearly any number of rounds, and we can even tweak the format to something more free form, if desired.
Q: Why should I hire you? Can’t anyone write/ask a trivia question?
A: Well, sure. And anyone can write/tell a joke, but there are professional comedians. Quizmaster Noah Tarnow has extensive experience in crafting and presenting clever and unique trivia. Nobody’s better: His talent and professionalism make the Big Quiz Thing a unique entertainment value.
Q: What kind of material do you feature?
A: Whatever you require. While we veer toward American pop culture, if you say you want lots of questions about Mongolian sheepherding, we can provide. Say we should keep it clean, and it's family-friendly all the way. Have a guest of honor? Our quizmaster can meet personally with friends and family and craft a game celebrating them. If it’s trivial in nature, we can do it, and do it right.
Q: What are your technical requirements?
A: Pretty basic: Depending on the game details, it can be as simple as a microphone and a table. Even our top-level events need only a projector, screen and DJ setup. The customizable format means we can design a game that will work with the resources available.
Q: What about prizes?
A: They're great, though we’ve found that it’s not strictly necessary—especially for friends or coworkers, the honor and glory of knowing you have more random knowledge than everyone else is reward enough. But if you’d like to supply prizes, we’re more than happy to incorporate them into the game.
Q: So what does it cost?
A: Since our events are custom-designed, the cost is dependent on how many guests, how technically involved it will be, how much personalized material is requested, whether we have to travel, etc. Let us know what you need: We can suggest an event that will satisfy everyone involved, including whoever’s approving the budget.

What to Expect
Typical Gig Duration: 30 - 120 minutes
We stage a live trivia spectacular: stunningly clever trivia presented in multiple rounds, with video content, audio clues, or other fun surprises. We can tailor the trivia to be pleasantly easy or fiendishly challenging, risqué or family-friendly, fully personalized or universally beloved, etc. Breaks between rounds allow maximum eating/drinking/socializing. The format is highly flexible, easily tailored to the specific needs of your event; we will work with you to create a game show event your audience will not soon forget.

Additional Notes:
We require an audio system that can play CDs and (preferably) an MP3 player. A video system (to play a PowerPoint presentation) is helpful, but not vital. A microphone is needed, except in small spaces. A stage or other dedicated area is necessary.
Audience should be able to sit at tables, but this is not strictly necessary.
A microphone is needed for large rooms.
