Wylder is an indie-folk band based out of Washington, DC. Led by singer-songwriter Will McCarry, the band brings a unique and intimate acoustic vibe to any engagement.
With a set built by acoustic guitar and mandolin, the band expands upon this framework with lush harmonies and memorable melodies. Equally at home performing foot stomping originals as they are full cover sets, Wylder's repertoire is vast, encompassing hours of material.
Wylder has performed at countless events including weddings, private parties, corporate functions, bars, clubs and more.
Wylder is available for trio and full band performances.
That is what I hear over and over, both times when Wylder (formerly Save the Arcadian) played The East Grace Street House Concert Series. Neighbors, friends and even out of my mouth — the band's music and inter-banter can't help but to make you feel good.
Consumate professionals, do not hesitate to book Wylder for any venue, large or small.
Wylder combines the best elements of indie-rock and chamber-folk. Informed by alternative rock giants such as Arcade Fire and Weezer, as well as the folkier sounds of Fleet Foxes and Radical Face, Wylder's dynamic melodies and heavily textured instrumentals have distinguished them as a significant voice in the independent music scene.
Formed by singer/guitarist Will McCarry in 2012, the group eventually grew to its current lineup in 2016, featuring Lonnie Southall (guitar/mandolin), Mike Pingley (drums), and Jackson Wright (bass). Wylder’s debut album, Rain and Laura, was released in April of 2016, and was met with enthusiastic reviews from fans and critics alike. Rain and Laura was recorded over the course of a year with producer Ted Comerford (Jukebox the Ghost), mixed by Bryan Cook (One Republic, The Weepies) and mastered by Brad Blackwood (Maroon 5, Allison Krauss).
In addition to several headlining East Coast tours that have taken them from Boston, MA to Nashville, TN, Wylder has performed with internationally touring artists such as Vanessa Carlton, The Griswolds, Jukebox the Ghost, Bela Fleck, The Family Crest, and Ages and Ages.
