The Wampler Brothers Band
The band is- Bill Wampler on mandolin, Ron Charlton on bass, John Westbrook on guitar, and Jay Shenk on viola/guitar- and most of us sing.
We play mostly a form of Americana/bluegrass with some re-purposed oldies thrown in.
We like to call it Swampgrass with Assorted Acoustic Mayhem.
We also play some CSN, Eagles and Jackson Browne type stuff too.
It’s not unusual for us to have a friend or two sit-in from time to time.

We perform mostly in the Tidewater area of Virginia- Williamsburg to Va. Beach and all points in between.
We have our own style- part Folk Music and part re-imagined oldies.

June 3, 2011What a great sound from a diverse array of music and instruments! My wife and I saw them play at La Bodega in Hampton, VA and they not only sounded great, but are entertaining to watch as well. This is by far the most enjoyable Open Mic / Americana band I have seen. I would definatley have Phoebus Rio play at any festive setting.

It is our pleasure to introduce you to Wampler Brothers Band! We are a professional, high-energy, four person band based in Hampton, VA offering an exciting and varied mix of music. Playing blues, country, bluegrass, folk, and of course, good old fashioned rock-and-roll, every performance is designed to have audiences singing along, tapping their toes, clapping their hands!
We have all had the pleasure of playing most of the music hot spots throughout the Hampton Roads area and beyond.
