Based on the specific nature of your event, we will provide the energy that you desire. If it is a funeral, we will play that somber music to mourn the beloved, but soon there after we will provide the platform to celebrate the life of the lost. In the wedding environment we set the tone, be it for a parade, a stationary set, or a stationary cocktail hour. These are just two small examples of the vibes that we share with the masses. Feel free to contact us with the logistics and details for your event so that we can come up with a tailor made package suitable to you needs.
The Free Agents Brass Band began shortly after Hurricane Katrina ravished through the City of New Orleans. The Band started in Atlanta, Georgia in 2005. Formed by Ellis Joseph, comprised displaced musicians. The musicians were all members of other bands; however, due to the hurricane they were jobless. They began playing around the Atlanta area to ease the pain of losing everything, and to express their love and heartbreak of not being in New (link hidden)e blend of Old School R & B, Hip-Hop, Gospel, Reggae, Afro-Beat and Traditional New Orleans Music is what has carried the band thus far. Weekend and week out the band can be found playing around New Orleans participating in events ranging from a funeral to a corporate luncheon.
The band has made many appearances over the years, and has been an influential piece in keeping the culture of New Orleans Brass Bands alive. They have played many of the local festivals in New Orleans (New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, French Quarter Festival, Gumbo Festival, and Essence Festival). The band was also featured on HBO's Treme where the title track We Made It Through That Water was aired. They have traveled the world sharing their talents around the globe, Festival De Jazz (Ouro Preto, Brazil), Cuba Dupa Festival (Wellington, New Zealand). In 2012 the band was featured onTim McGraw's song titled Mexicoma for his Brothers of The Sun Tour with Special Guest Kenny Chesney. Also in 2017 the band made its first appearance at Universal Studios, Orlando's Mardi Gras Experience, where they have been asked to return for years to come.
