Her first horrific encounter happened during her senior year in high school, when a college student texting on his cell phone, caused a three-car collision resulting in severe head trauma for her beloved dad and mentor. It altered her family forever, but her mother refused to allow the accident to define them. That strength and determination became a model for her own future challenges.
