Eden Lane Jazz Band
Overview
Eden Lane is a traditional jazz band with an affinity for The Great American Songbook. Anchored by redheaded songbird Stephanie Layton, they perform repertoire ranging from the Prohibition Era to the 1940s & 50s, and their sound has frequently been compared to that of Ella Fitzgerald, Diana Krall and Peggy Lee. The band crafts their sets to combine fresh takes on classic tunes with rarer gems from deep in the vintage vault, and can go from intimate and sultry to lively and swinging based on your event!
Eden Lane can play as 2 - 6 pieces, and instruments include vocals, guitar, upright bass, trumpet or sax, drums, and piano.

March 24, 201960th Birthday Party, But Would Recommend for Any Event
Stephanie worked solo keyboard for a party celebrating my husband's 60th birthday party. She agreed to an odd, specific task: Play all Sondheim, all afternoon. She made every step of the process so easy and filled us with confidence, from signing the contract to choosing the playlist, to making payments. Her musicianship is impeccable, and her flexibility just blew us away. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

About
Eden Lane is a classic jazz band with an affinity for The Great American Songbook, classic film noir, and the wit and glamour of a bygone era. Anchored by redheaded songbird Stephanie Layton, they perform standards from The Prohibition Era through the 1960s, crafting their sets to combine fresh takes on famous tunes with rarer gems from the vintage vault. Steph & crew have appeared at events for Macallan Scotch, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, S’well Bottle, Etsy, Air Canada, Kempinski Hotels, Seattle's Washington Athletic Club, The American Federation of the Arts, NYC’s famous Rainbow Room, countless weddings, parties, galas and celebrations.
The band can play as two - six pieces (female vocals, guitar, upright bass, trumpet or sax, drums, piano) depending on what an event calls for, and Steph is happy to advise if you aren't sure! Additionally, while traditional jazz is the band's go-to repertoire, they are extremely capable of playing special requests in just about any genre (or "post-modern jukebox" jazz takes on contemporary tunes).
The band is self-sufficient when it comes to sound & gear in almost any small-moderately large venue and always dress to impress; whether it be Gatsy glamour, Old Hollywood, holiday sparkle or niche vibes like "vintage airline" or "Copacabana." They absolutely love what they do, and they love doing it together!
Additional booking notes
We have the ability to provide our own sound equipment for events of various sizes (we have a lovely P.A. for large spaces), and we tailor our setup based on the size of the room and expectations of the host. All we usually need is access to an electrical outlet, and a chair or two.
When playing for over an hour, the band will plan to take short set breaks based on the duration of the gig. We are happy to time out our breaks so that they coordinate well with specific schedule plans, and we always make sure that a playlist is playing through the P.A. so that the music doesn't stop. If you would like to choose the playlist, that's fine too - just share it with us via Spotify.
