RYAN T HIGGINS BAND
After assembling a veteran group of pro players to back his solo release “MAD LOVE,” Ryan Higgins and the crew of Joe Cook on vocals and harmonica, Robert Baker on Bass, and drummer Rick J Bowen found a new joy in writing and performing together as a full blown project. The quartet began working on completing a backlog of songs that resulted in 16 new tracks.
The first single ‘I Drink Alone,’was released on june 30 2025 as a part of their Tall Tails collection. The Hooker styled boogie features blistering blues harmonica and vocals from Joe Cook. The multi “Best of the Blues” award winner spins a yarn of a man done wrong staring at his world through the bottom of glass, until the band kicks into full gear. The second single, ‘Stop The Rain ’ released on October is a smooth soulful Rhythm and Blues track that emulates the tones of both B.B. and Albert King as Higgins wears his heart on his sleeve delivering pleading vocals and gritting lead guitar on his trusty Gibson es-335 with Cook adding mournful Blues Harp over a solid groove from Bowen and Baker, the quartet pays tribute to the icons with a fresh take on a classic form. If there is one thing folks in the Pacific Northwest know about it is the inevitability of rain in the forecast. The full album is due for a summer of 2026 showing. Meanwhile this special lineup is playing select gigs together and enjoying the freedom that comes with a pressure free "side project," that allows them to stretch out and explore fresh soundscapes and new musical conversations.
