Greetings reader! My name is Jhané Bowden, though many now know me as RoŹE.

I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember and have had the privilege of performing professionally for more than 15 years. Music has always been part of my life, but over time I discovered that my calling wasn’t simply to sing, it was to serve people through music.

I truly believe that music has the power to bring people together, to encourage, to comfort, and even to help heal. Having that realization transformed the way I now approach every performance. Today, I don’t sing just to entertain. I sing with purpose, hoping every note creates an atmosphere where people feel connected, celebrated, and genuinely cared for.

Some of my earliest memories of singing began in the church. My mother directed the choir, and my grandfather was the bishop. That meant no special treatment & definitely no favoritism! Lol Instead, I learned the value of preparation, humility, and serving wherever I was needed.

As I got older, I felt a growing desire to explore music beyond the church walls, though I couldn’t quite explain why. One evening, my best friend and I stopped by a live music venue called Tin Roof. As I watched the band perform, something stirred in my heart. I remember thinking and feeling, “This is it. This is what I want to do.”

From that moment on, I began to pray for direction, and one opportunity after another began to unfold.

Over the years, I’ve been blessed to perform throughout the DMV area, holding residencies at restaurants, steakhouses, and live music venues, appearing at festivals, opening for nationally recognized artists, headlining events, and collaborating with incredibly talented musicians. Every stage, every audience, and every experience has helped shape the artist I am today.

Along the way, I stepped away for a season. A season of growth, reflection, and also welcoming one of my greatest blessings into the world.

That season was difficult but it reminded me that purpose isn’t something we chase, it’s something we grow into. This particular season also birthed my new name.

Today, I’m grateful to return with renewed joy, gratitude, deeper purpose, and an even greater love for serving others through music.

Whether I’m performing for an elegant wedding, an intimate dinner, a corporate gathering, or a celebration with family and friends, my hope is always the same; that people leave feeling a little more connected in love than when they arrived.

Sound is one of the most important parts of the whole experience. It can make or break the performance. In order for me to do my job properly, the sound must be checked at least 1hr before performing. Please let me know beforehand if I have to provide my own sound or not. It helps if you explain the staging and event details so that I can better work with you to create this unforgettable experience. The more details you provide, the better the experience.
