Hello, my name is Rostafa, Actor, Singer-Songwriter, Multi-Instrumentalist. My act comprises of both original and cover music via acoustic guitar/harmonica/vocals. I never play the same setlist once. The reason being is because each time I play, it's unique in itself. I do take requests, but needs to be at least 2 weeks minimum in advance notice. The genres I play comprise of Rock, Blues, Country, R&B, Reggae, Folk, Jazz-Blues, Funk, and Americana. I am very well versed in music from the 50's to the present. I take great pride and joy (no pun intended) on improving myself from gig to gig. I love performing, but just as much, I love building relationships with people.
Price Range: $200 - $500
Gig Length: 3 - 5 minutes
What to Expect
The main thing I like to offer is atmosphere. A lot of times performers don't understand that they are a background, and not just somebody looking just to interact with their audiences. It's very easy for me to be social, but it's another art entirely to keep the atmosphere present and pleasant for all to enjoy. The idea is to make people feel good about themselves and provide fun, relief, and create memories that last a life time. Sometimes the smallest moments in life provide the most impact. I like to provide moments that can influence somebody doing some good. It's not just a matter of feeling good just for the moment, but a reminder to feel good all the time, no matter what challenges you face. When people see me perform, they are happy to know that we are all connected in some way and that we are all grateful to meet and to interact both through music and conversation. Music is a universal language, and I'm proud to be of service to provide the atmosphere to make things better than what they all ready are.
Hello, my name is Rostafa, and I'm from West Orange, NJ. I have been a performer since the age of 13. I started acting and have done shows both in and outside of public schools. I started playing Saxophone at the age of 10, which went from Alto, Tenor, than Baritone within 6 years. At 17, I picked up the guitar, than at 19 I picked up the harmonicas. Right now I'm currently learning Bass, Mandolin, and 6 String Banjo. I studied at Essex County College where I received my associates degree in Liberal Arts. As of May 2015, I have recieved my B.A. in Theatre Studies from Montclair State University.
I play various genres stemming from Rock, Blues, R&B, Country, Reggae, Jazz-Blues, and Folk. I play cover-songs, however, I can play original material if necessary. If there is a particular Song or Artist suggestion, make sure to tell me a head of time so I can get an idea of what to bring to the table at your event. My style is based off of Richie Haven's, along with the harmonica, and a baritone/low-tenor voice.
I love performing for people. It gives me pleasure to make someone smile, laugh, and make their day that much sweeter. I want to be able to make a career as a successful singer-songwriter. I want to be able to travel the world, sell music, and be able to maintain a living doing that. But for now, I would want to build my career by performing for all who would like to hire me. I am committed and determined to give you every ounce of energy I have.
My Songs include, but not limited to:
Additional Booking Notes
I come with my guitar, harmonicas, *optional amp and mic, and myself. The only thing I ask in advance is an uber service to and from the location (which doesn't conflict with my pay for my musical services). Also, if I need to be put in a location where I'm needed for amplification, I do ask for a extension cord. If u have staging, lighting, or a pa system, that's a big plus for me also. But I'm very flexible and am willing to work with you.

Richie Havens, Bob Dylan, CSNY, Tupac, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, The Band, Elton John, Joe Cocker, Queen, and many more.
amp/mic (This is optional, I can bring my own if it's required depending on the circumstances).
