We reached out to Reilley to perform Irish songs for my father's wake and burial. Reilley was prompt to the wake and played for hours upon hours of appropriate Irish wake tunes without any specific direction from us on songs to play. His talent was admired by everyone in attendance, as well as his endurance in playing for so long (we also never gave him any direction on how long to play - but he played longer than I expected him too!). He was quiet, respectful and just an amazing talent that added so much to the wake. The following morning he arrived early to practice with a singer to get the accompaniment just perfect (they had never met prior to the morning of the burial). His violin playing was superb. I can't say enough fabulous things about Reilley. I absolutely plan to reach out to him again when future events call for his talent...hopefully for happier occasions - I can only imagine how good he would be playing upbeat Irish reels.
If you need a violinist than Reilly is your guy!! He's the man. He's so nice and kind real professional. His skills are out of this world. By him self he can transform the entire event!!
Brian is very pleasant and accommodating. He played for our annual St. Patrick's Day Brunch and fit right in a small house full of family and friends. It made the event. We got many thanks from our guests the next day.
Professional, excellent musician.
Brian did a great job , the spectators for the parade were entertained
Already sent in review. Very pleased, thanks!
Brian did a great job of keeping everyone happy with the music and staying on top of the flow of food and toast and dancing that we chose to do at our party. He was truly a contributing member of the party.
Brian was a joy to work with and totally hassle-free. On a day when the bride and groom have a million things to worry and stress over, I nearly forgot about being sure Brian arrived, and it didn't matter! As soon as we went to the cocktail hour venue, he was set up and had begun playing classic music on his violin. It was a perfect addition to the outdoor gardens on a beautiful spring afternoon. When the caterer was late on food and we had to extend the cocktail hour a half hour, Brian continue playing with no problems whatsoever.
Not only that, but I booked Brian for cocktail hour as well as the after party each taking place in two different boroughs! And go figure, as soon as we arrived to the Brooklyn pub at midnight, Brian was there and ready to begin playing Irish classic on the fiddle.
Not only his kindness and professionalism, but his adaptability was on full display as my group of well-lubricated friends kept asking for game of thrones over and over again the day before the big premiere, we pulled up sheet music on an iPhone and Brian even starting playing some of that to much applause.
Highly recommended for a number of reasons. Can't go wrong!
Thanks again to Brian for helping to make our big day just that much better!

Brian played for an Irish dinner at our active adult community. He arrived well ahead of the event, set up,, and was ready to go and playing as people entered the room. His music was lovely, and include a varied repertoire of Irish tunes. He is a consummate professional, and interacted well with our group well during his breaks. I highly recommend Brian for your next Irish gig!
Brian is handsome, vibrant, and a very elegant chap----and a
STUNNING fiddler! Plus he performed OUTSIDE....on the
coldest day of the year, and his fingers, somehow did not
freeze and fall off.
Price Range: $125 and up
Gig Length: 60 - 300 minutes
What to Expect
Electric violin - I perform electric violin over layered violin backing tracks that I've recorded myself, giving an orchestral feel to Top 40 and Pop favorites. I can also play along with your DJ, adding something unique and exciting to the dance floor.
Fiddle - I play Sligo style Irish fiddle, and have also toured with Country and Americana bands. I can play traditional music that is lively and upbeat or slow and ambient.
Classical or Acoustic Violin - I perform for weddings, gallery openings, private parties, and other events where live violin adds some class and ambience. I also am a contractor with extensive experience organizing string duos, trios, and quartets. I can perform classical, pop, classic rock, R&B and also take requests.
Reilley Vegh is a violinist, violist, fiddler, composer, and teacher in New York City. Reilley’s teachers have included Du Yun (2017 Pulitzer Prize Winner), Brian Conway (1986 All Ireland Fiddle Champion), and Danielle Farina and Anna Kruger (Former violists of the acclaimed LARK quartet).
Reilley is an active performer, sitting in with a variety of bands and ensembles in the Tri-state area. They are also the full time fiddler for three NYC bands; Irish punk group The Narrowbacks, queer country band Paisley Fields, and an Americana Trio called Sunshine Nights.

Reilley has recorded on two Paisley Fields albums and toured extensively with the band in the midwest, south, and west coast. A song from the album “Glitter and Sawdust” was recognized by Wide Open Country as one of the best songs of 2018, an honor shared with major country artists including Kacey Musgraves and Joshua Hedley. Paisley Fields has also performed extensively with the legendary Lavender Country, the first ever queer country band to release an album in the 1970’s.
Reilley joined Sunshine Nights in March of this year to play on their album release, and has been performing with the group ever since. Reilley has toured with the band in Montreal and the South, and in 2020 will be touring in Australia.
In addition to fiddle, Reilley also performs as an electric violinist, working with DJ’s and event planners to give high energy performances for private parties, wedding receptions, and night club events.
Reilley is also an active teacher with students in NYC and Westchester County. Reilley believes that music lessons should be fun, exciting, and personal, with a teaching method that is tailored to each individual student.
Additional Booking Notes
My equipment and setup is dependent on the event; I can perform acoustic or amplified. If I am performing acoustic, then I can play with minimal space; all I need is room for a music stand if performing classical music. If your event is outside, adequate cover must be provided to keep my instrument and equipment dry in the case of bad weather.
