Hello Ken - Wow, that was fun. Lot's of nice folks, a very pleasant evening. Looking forward to when you get the brew pub up and fully running.
Elevate your event with Roberts music
Robert and the Stringtown Trio made our wedding unique and special and were an excellent addition for both the ceremony and cocktail hour. They learned two songs for us in advance, were punctual and easy to work with. I definitely would recommend hiring them.
Robert was terrific. Thank you
Robert was communicative, prompt, friendly, and wonderful to hear. Thanks so much, Robert! Everyone really enjoyed your music.
Robert McCloy is an absolutely amazing guitarist! I hired him to play acoustic guitar for my wedding and he far exceeded my expectations! He is so amazing to work with and made sure that every detail was covered. Everyone commented on how beautiful his playing was. I can't thank Robert enough for making my wedding dreams come true!
Robert was great, he did an awesome job and even texted me to let me know he was set up, since I couldn't go outside and see if he was there. It saved me an extra worry on my big day!
Robert played during our wedding ceremony & during our cocktail hour. He was absolutely fantastic and extremely easy to work with. We would hire him again in a heartbeat. Thank you Tobert for bring a wonderful part of our wedding day!!
Although I didn't get to speak much with Robert on the day he performed for my wedding, Robert was exactly what we were looking for. He performed on guitar for our entire event from ceremony to reception and we could not have asked for better music or a more talented musician. We danced, we cried and laughed, and the music moved us seamlessly through the night. We couldn't have asked for more.
On top of being a wonderful musician, Robert responded to our requests and inquiries immediately, every time. His prompt responses kept my husband and I at ease through the whole planning process. We highly recommend him and hope to cross paths with him again one day.
Response from Robert McCloy - Musician:
That was phun :-) A great day at the Felt Mansion in Saugatuck. Thank you for the opportunity to work with the guitar/violin/sax trio. We do not get to do that enough.
Re: crossing paths again someday - hoping to play at your children's wedding!! :-) Everyone in my family pushes 100 yrs of life, so I expect to be at this for a while. I love what I do, and plan on keep on keeping on.
We contacted Robert on a Saturday about performing at a funeral/memorial service for our grandmother on the following day (Sunday). Robert was very communicative, took suggestions for the event, and came early to work with the minister on hymns for the service. His music was appropriate for the service and beautifully put-together. We would recommend him again.
Rob was amazing at our wedding yesterday! The music was so beautiful and it was an outside wedding and you could hear it really well! Such an amazing musician, I would recommend him to everyone!
Mr. McCloy and his guest were a classical guitar and violin duo. They arrived before the wedding party did so there was ample time to set up and speak with us regarding special requests. Specifically, my dad requested an old classic that they did not have but with the use of the famous smart phones they were able to bring the music up quickly and perform without missing a beat. Their melody was enchanting and set the stage for what turned out to be a beautiful night.
The wedding party was made up of 20 somethings with a mixed guest crowd from 4 months old to 89 years old. We have absolutely only positive things to say about them and would definitely recommend this duo for your events.
Response from Robert McCloy - Musician:
Thanks Sylvia :-) That was a fun evening :-)
Robert did a great job performing at our annual company Christmas party. Everyone commented on how the music fit the venue and filled the air with acoustical silk. Amazing performer....we will definitely ask Robert to return next year.

I've been a full time professional musician for over 30 yrs. All musicians I work with are pros - no weekend hobbyists. I've worked approx 1000 weddings, and countless corporate, private, and community events.
Over those 30 years, I have never been late or missed a gig. Many, many reviews from past clients' are available upon request - giving thier impressions of my professionalism, talent, flexibility, reliability, and attention to their requests.
My website includes repertoire listings. If your requests are not on my list, that's no concern, I do special requests all the time. Partnering with you to plan the music for your event is something I enjoy. My business motto is "Your Requests are my Business".
For outdoor events, make sure to inquire of any musician what amplification they provide. Acoustic instruments disappear outdoors with even a slight breeze. I carry a state of the art battery powered system. For weddings, a wireless lapel microphones are available for the officiant and/or readers at no extra charge.
I have total confidence in the quality of service that I deliver - and recognize that the most common reason people choose to not use my services is their budget.
I've come to realize that often, music is where people are most likely to cut their budget - but have seen many polls re: what guests remember about an event. They don't remember the food, the flowers, the decor. What they DO recall is the quality or lack of quality of the music.
Music provides the soundtrack of our lives. Stop. Think of all the personal memories that you hold that are book marked by a song.
It pays to go with a pro.
Feel free to request demo CD's to hear full samples.
Additional Booking Notes
I come self contained. Any amplification, etc. included, and all is top of the line professional equipment.
Before you hire any musician, make sure to inquire re: what they carry for amplification. Outdoors, acoustic instruments disappear, as do voices. For outdoor events, I carry a state of the art battery powered system that includes the provision of 2 wireless lapel microphones - invaluable for amplifying officient & readers at a wedding. No extra charge, this is just the equipment I carry.
