Before becoming a licensed clinical therapist (KS & MO), Dr. Burford served Presbyterian and C&MA churches for nearly 30 years. His counseling education is further supplemented by advanced training in couples therapy from The Gottman Institute (Seattle). He is a presenter for the Institute's Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work® and Bringing Baby Home® programs.

Presentations can be as brief as a 30 minute presentation to a 2 ½ day retreat.

Doug's greatest education has come from decades of marriage to the wife of his youth, who has always done naturally what the books try to teach the rest of us. Together, they have three adult children and six grandchildren.
The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work can be tailored for events as brief as a luncheon to as long as a weekend couples' retreat.
