Everyone faces trauma and difficulties in their life, and it is much better to deal with it head on rather than let it sit inside you. I’ve spent so much of my life letting others dictate how I act. I know people are going to judge me, and I’m finally at a point in my life where I’m okay with it. I want people to judge me - maybe then they can see the pain I have been through that has made me who I am today. I tell my story in order to help others get through tough times and realize that in order to have a fulfilling future, you must face - and deal with - your past.

I was involved in a horrific crash when a drunk driver hit my Aunt's car was I was 12 years old. This event shaped my life and I allowed this event to dictate how I viewed the world. Through EMDR therapy, I was able to see how to stop being a victim of life's events and instead press on to a future that I want and deserve.
