Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my site. My name is Richard Thompson. I am a hobbyist who loves to play music. I’m not a professional musician and I do not rely on music to provide me a living. Some may say thank goodness, but music is an escape for me. Through the years I have played in many bands, done some duo work and performed as a solo act. I have played the clubs, festivals, parties, charity events, nursing homes, homeless shelters, county fairs and farmer’s markets. I just love to play.
I am not a “Singer/Songwriter” and I do not perform music that makes a “statement.” My choice of music centers around the styles that I grew up with and that I have always enjoyed when I go out on the town. I have played all styles from Old Country, Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, New Country, Blues to Classic Rock and Roll. I enjoy performing and having a good time. My show incorporates fun with music, and I love the crowd interaction.
You’ve heard the expression “Sing for your Supper”, well that is how I usually get started in doing a regular gig. Drinks and tips work just as good for me.
