What to expect

Clients can choose between two distinct formats:

• Piano-and-vocal duo: Oliver performs with Portland jazz pianist and arranger Tim Ribner, bringing the live interplay and sophistication of voice and piano to cocktail hours, dinners, weddings, corporate events, and formal gatherings. Tim’s availability and the venue’s piano or keyboard plan are confirmed in advance.

• Solo vocalist: Oliver performs live vocals with professionally produced tracks, creating a polished, full musical presentation with a compact setup. This format is ideal for senior communities, private parties, community events, and holiday programs.

Both options include classic, event-appropriate attire, a set list tailored to the room and audience, recognizable swing tunes, bossa novas and ballads, and warm, concise audience interaction. Performance lengths from 30 to 120 minutes are available depending on the package and event.

About

Oliver Kennedy is a Vancouver-based jazz vocalist offering the Great American Songbook in two formats: a live piano-and-vocal duo with Portland pianist and arranger Tim Ribner, or a streamlined solo performance with professionally produced tracks. Both are tailored to the room, audience, and occasion.

A 2025 NATS Cascade Chapter first-place winner in Commercial Music and a 2026 NATS National Semifinalist, placing among the Top 15 nationally, Oliver performs favorites associated with Mel Tormé, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, and more. His repertoire spans swinging standards, bossa nova, and classic ballads for cocktail hours, dinners, senior communities, private gatherings, weddings, corporate events, and holiday celebrations. Oliver also sings bass/baritone with the Pacific Youth Chamber Choir and studies voice with Laura Beckel Thoreson.

Additional booking notes

Solo package: live vocals with professionally produced backing tracks and a vocal microphone. Please provide a standard grounded electrical outlet near the performance area.

Piano-and-vocal duo package: live vocals with Tim Ribner on piano. A well-maintained, tuned acoustic piano is preferred; if none is available, the keyboard and amplification plan must be agreed upon in advance. Please share the venue’s piano details, house sound availability, room size, guest count, load-in route, and volume rules before the event.

No special lighting or raised stage is required for most indoor events. Outdoor events require a covered, weather-protected performance area and safe power. Final sound and setup needs are confirmed based on the selected package and venue.
