We had seen Megg and Friends in NYC a number of times and could not think of a band we would rather dance to on our most special day together... and lucky for us they agreed to come all the way to Vermont! Playing a mix of classics, their own stuff, and even the Hava Nagila (it got rowdy!), they put on a diverse and well-organized couple of sets. They did a great job with the songs they learned for our first dance, dance with our parents, and really moved us through the night with so much energy and beauty. They are extremely talented musicians, and Megg's voice is simply one of the best out there. Our families and friends were so impressed that we had such an amazing band. It was one of the best parties I've ever been to, and such a special night. Thank you so so much!

What to Expect
Megg Farrell is a country, blues, and jazz singer. Her repertoire includes not only lots of classic country including Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline, Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Buck Owens, etc but also a range of material includes jazz from the 1920s-1950s, early blues, and french chanson. She has been performing professionally in New York City for over ten years. Megg brings lots of energy and passion to her performances and can always get folks on their feet.
Megg Farrell grew up singing old folk tunes, writing songs and playing in rowdy folk-rock groups as a teenager. In 2013, she burst into the New York music scene and has been building a devoted audience ever since. She started out in the jazz world under the name Sweet Megg singing old jazz standards and blues songs influenced heavily by her main heroine Billie Holiday. She instantly became a hit in the jazz world but she was longing to return to her songwriting roots. Inspired by the release of her first full original folk album last year and spending the year touring through the south, Megg has put together a new project breaking out of the jazz world and into the world of classic country. Now, with years of experience under her belt, she brings the maturity of a professional jazz vocalist and the energy of a rock ‘n roller to her new project Megg Farrell & Friends. Her voice is a unique blend of soulful grit and sweet molasses. The group is heavily influenced by Emmylou Harris’s Hot Band with three part harmonies and lots of Telecaster. This band will get you moving.
