While my main genre is Country, I have eclectic taste in music and will throw in songs from other artists such as Ed Sheeren, Melissa Etheridge and Tom Petty. I bring my own PA system unless you have a house PA that you prefer, usually arriving 30 minutes before start to set up and sound check. I have played for audiences ranging from a few dozen to over 500.
I have taken voice and guitar lessons for most of my life and think that practice and constantly learning more make me a better performer. Today, I play in bars and restaurants in northern New Jersey, and have been doing so since I was 14. One evening, while playing at a local bar, a man – and now friend – came up to me and gave me his business card. Soon after, he provided me with my first opportunity to come to Nashville. I came here and had a few meetings with executives at BLA, and soon after made my decision to go to college in Nashville.
I now live in Nashville at Belmont University, where I am enrolled as a Communication Studies Major and Music Business Minor. I auditioned for and was placed in University Singers, a mixed choral group at Belmont. I also auditioned for and was placed in a new women’s a cappella group. My first semester of college, I auditioned and was hired as a performer at Tootsies Orchid and Rippy’s Bar. Throughout my time in Nashville, I have been co-writing with many talented songwriters here.
I absolutely love to create and perform new music. Writing a song that reflects my feelings and thoughts and allows me to share them with my audience is by far my greatest joy. I believe music is an outstanding form of art, which connects people of all walks of life together through a single medium. The idea that one of my songs could connect with an individual because of something completely different than what the song was written about is a very powerful notion.
Again, I bring my own equipment: Behringer speakers, Yamaha sound board, mics, mic stands... I play acoustic guitar, adding occasionally banjo, tambourine and cajon when appropriate.
