Jesse has years of experience playing weddings, private parties, corporate events, house concerts, etc. He is known for his vast list of cover songs ranging anywhere from classic rock (Eagles, Creedence Clearwater Revival) to Soul (Al Green, Smokey Robinson, Otis Redding) to modern rock (Oasis, Green Day, Pearl Jam) to Oldies (Elvis, Johnny Cash, Van Morrison, James Taylor) to Pop/Top 40 (Adele, John Mayer, Harry Styles, Lorde). We were hoping to have a friend play the guitar as guests arrived at our wedding, and for the walking-down-the-aisle part, but our friend unfortunately wasnt able to do it at the last minute. I frantically searched on gig salad having heard once that it is a place to go to hire musicians, totally afraid that I wouldnt find anyone good. Oh my goodness was I wrong!! Jesse was AMAZING!!! So professional and easy to communicate with leading up to the event, and he even learned a new song at our request. AND HE WAS JUST WONDERFUL! Several guests came up to me at the wedding asking who the amazing guitarist was ... everyone was shocked to hear that I had found him online at the last minute. If you need a good looking and charming guy to play the guitar and sing at an event, I cant imagine anyone being better than Jesse!! I would hire him again in an instant.

We can't say enough about how great Jesse was. In terms of talent and performance, he is as good as it gets. He has an amazing voice and could play everything. (His original songs were actually my favorites though.) He made the party fun and memorable with the music, and every single one of our guests commented how great he was. He skillfully kept the party vibe fun and entertaining for everyone, ages 2 (sorry Jesse!) to 60. I expect he'll be a star one day, and we will have a good story to tell! In addition to his talent, he is a wonderful and personable person. Very responsive, easy-going, and extremely easy to work with. Without reservation we recommend Jesse MacLeod as a singer, performer and overall great guy to have at an event. Home run.

What to expect
I play a mix of classic and contemporary hits both upbeat and downtempo. I've learned that every crowd is different so I generally do an assessment of the crowd before I begin a set. For example, if most people in the crowd are in their 50's and 60's I'm sticking to artists like Van Morrison, James Taylor, Johnny Cash, etc. If the crowd is primarily 20-30 somethings, I'll be playing songs from artists like John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Jason Mraz, Oasis, etc. If the group is a combination of the two, I'll play songs that cater to both age ranges.
About
Jesse MacLeod has been given the gift a naturally distinctive, soulful voice. Being the son of bluesman Doug MacLeod, the young singer/songwriter began absorbing the blues at a very young age. Vinyl records of artists like Albert King, Muddy Waters and Son House played regularly through the stereo of his childhood home, this influence is clearly apparent in him today. Also heavily influenced by contemporary folk artists such as Amos Lee and Ryan Adams, he has carved out a unique sound blending the best of today and yesterday.
Jesse has performed live in some of the premier singer/songwriter venues in Los Angeles including the Hotel Cafe, WitZend and Room 5. He has had the honor of receiving the award of Best Performer in the Westcoast Songwriters February 2009 Songwriter Competition in Hollywood and was a Top Three Male Finalist in the 2009 So Cal Music Live Competition. He has released two commercial recordings; In Between Homes (2010) and Red Flags (2012). "As The Summer Wanes" from the In Between Homes EP was featured on an episode of the second season of NBC's The Voice.
