With a decade of professional experience in public policy, education, and nonprofits, Brett is a leadership expert and educator who has published commentary and research on topics such as civic education, Social Security, doctoral education, community-based learning, and college readiness. A former local school board member, housing authority commissioner, and university student government president, his life has been dedicated to public service at the local level. The first-generation college graduate has earned a bachelor's in political science and communication, a master's in public administration, and a PhD in leadership. His academic credentials include concentrations in public relations, administrative management, and education. He is a Certified Nonprofit Executive and a certified Local Government Professional Manager who has helped organizations create cultures of excellence and improvement through strategic thinking, mission focus, and a people-first orientation. With high-level experiences in local government administration, economic development, government relations, and legislative deal-making, Dr. Johnson can tailor his leadership/followership presentations to suit the goals and needs of any organization or group.
