Philadelphia born drummer and composer, Kevin Ripley, began playing the drums at age ten. He later moved to Doylestown, Pa just before high school. He attended Bucks County Community College, studying jazz performance on drums and piano under Mark Pultorak, Dan Monaghan, Jeff Baumeister, and Tom Lawton. Throughout his short stay at school, his musical abilities were predominantly advanced by means of his own research and performing. Kevin began professionally performing with members of the Bucks County Community College faculty and student body. In 2009, he began performing regularly in Bucks County and Philadelphia.
Currently, Kevin resides in Philadelphia, professionally performing with an array of groups all over the Philadelphia area. Kevin has done touring and recording throughout the country as well as Canada and Europe. Kevin is known for his distinctive musical, melodic and intense approach to the drum set. In addition to working as a drummer, he also composes unique original music as a pianist, drawing inspiration from a vast array of influences.
Kevin also composes modern electronic music.
He has released two self produced albums “Three Changes” and “Ripples EP”. Currently, he is working on his next album.
