Overview
The Creswell Club is a constellation of musicians who play music that makes life better. We love jazz standards and music from the 1920s, but we play everything from swing to bossa, Motown to Sinatra, Edith Piaf to Lana Del Rey. We play hard, dress well and look like we’re having a blast, because we are!
We can be anything from a duo to a septet—we offer guitar, piano, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, clarinet, banjo, accordion and vocals.
We've played with celebrated names in music, including Herbie Hancock and Chaka Khan. But when we’re playing together what matters is the music. What matters is the mood. What matters is the moment we’re all sharing together—you, us and the people in the room.

Dan & Creswell club we’re absolutely amazing! Due to Covid, plans had to be altered many times and they were all so accommodating and went with it! We received so many compliments from our guests as well as the staff at our venue on how great Creswell club was! The music was perfect and they even brought an amp and extra microphone so we could have all of our speeches read and plug in a phone for our parents dances and first dance!
Thank you Dan & Creswell Club! You were everything we could’ve asked for and more!

Thank you so much for the review, Alexa! It was a lovely wedding. We’re so happy we got to play for you and Tyler! —Dan

The Creswell Club made our wedding night so incredibly special. We contracted them for our wedding ceremony and cocktail hour music, and everything went EXACTLY how we wanted. Huge kudos to Dan for helping us coordinate things leading up to the day (he's incredibly responsive and thorough), and a MASSIVE thank you to Nick and Jack who performed for our guests. We received multiple compliments about their performance -- their music was so good there were couples who decided to ignore the cocktail hour food we were providing them so that they could dance to the music instead. That should be all the reference you need if you're considering booking The Creswell club for your next event. They are forever on our short list of vendors we'd recommend to folks looking for awesome music. Cheers!

The Creswell Club performed for our 31st Wedding Anniversary Celebration. We were specific in our requests for music from the 1930's and 40's to include American Standards and New Orleans Jazz. Band leader, Dan Martin, was extremely helpful in selecting the music and the musicians for our great event. Their musical posts on their homepage does not completely represent how amazing the sound they create in a live setting. The Creswell Club showed up early, paid attention to our itinerary, and most importantly created an environment to both listen as well as dance the night away. These are professional musicians who not only know how to play but play extremely well together in creating beautiful music.

Booking The Creswell Club was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Dan is extremely organized, responsive, and detail-oriented. He went above and beyond to accommodate our music preferences, ceremony sound setup, and various performance locations at our venue. The band members were timely and professional. They helped our wedding day flow absolutely seamlessly, and our guests were blown away by their craft!

I can't say enough good about The Creswell Club. We hired them to play the reception at my mother's funeral because my mother had once expressed admiration for New Orleans' funerals; but we didn't want a full-on New Orleans funeral with dancing and such - just something nice and classy to lift our moods and celebrate my mother's life. As the day approached, I was a little worried that we may have made a mistake - that maybe hiring a New Orleans jazz band would be something too upbeat for the mournful mood that we would/should all be in. But I was wrong! I had discussed the event with Dan, the band leader, in advance, and he really understood the balancing act that what we were trying to achieve. The Creswell Club knocked it out of the park! The music they played was perfect; and they set the mood perfectly - respectfully and elegantly lifting our moods and helping us to move from mourning into a classy celebration of my mother's life. Everyone in attendance commented on what a nice touch it was to have them there, as well as on the top quality of the musicianship. My 90 year-old father was pleased, my brothers were pleased, my skeptical wife was pleased, everyone was pleased. Booking The Creswell Club was THE FACTOR that made the difference and transformed what would otherwise have been a depressing and glum obligation for our guests into a truly enjoyable, classy, and elegant remembrance of a classy and elegant woman - my mother. THANK YOU DAN AND THE CRESWELL CLUB for making the difference in my mother's funeral reception! For any of you who may be considering The Creswell Club for your event - of whatever kind - my father, brothers, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They were worth every penny. I hope I can see them play again somewhere someday.

Dan and The Creswell Club were an absolute dream to work with for our wedding. The Creswell
Club was originally recommended to us by our venue Frankies 457 and the recommendation was spot on. We wanted a jazz band to add something special to our wedding/reception. The band was completely understanding when we had to postpone and made sure they were good to go with our new date a year later. A few weeks prior to the wedding we decided to add their vocalist which was very easy to do. Dan helped us to pick a few special songs and otherwise made sure to play upbeat music for the remainder of our reception. They arrived early and played perfectly from start to finish!

I have to say my experience with the Creswell club was the best among all my wedding vendors. The band lead -Dan is very on top of everything and very easy& pleasant to communicate with. They played for my ceremony and my cocktail hour. All of my guests had nothing but compliments to say about the band. I highly recommend the Creswell if you would like to hire the professional and talented musicians.

I couldn't be happier that the Creswell Club played at our wedding! We had an accordion/bass/clarinet/drums quartet. They played beautifully and many wedding guests commented about how lovely the music was. I posted my wedding on GigMasters only a few weeks before the wedding, and Dan from the Creswell Club contacted me right away. He was an absolute pleasure to interact with from beginning to end, always responding to my emails quickly and thoroughly, making suggestions while being extremely open to what we wanted. He also coordinated with the venue. I really didn't have to worry about anything and it all worked out perfectly. Thank you Dan and Creswell Club! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dan and his band helped make our amazing day even more special. They were on time, polite, quick to setup, and were flexible in terms of our special request: we had asked Dan himself to announce the bridal parties and different events like "father-daughter dance", and he did willingly and expertly. The band sounded great, and the lead singer was extremely talented, performing the song for our first dance beautifully. Our guests were also thoroughly impressed with the Dan Martin Band, and several asked about using them for future events. Thank you, Dan!

We asked these guys to play at our wedding for 2 hours. Despite the heavy traffic they were at the venue on time. Because it was first dance we spoke to the singer before the party and she was very helpful. People who danced to certain songs the band extended to get the party going.
Hire them for any event you won't regret it!!

As we were looking for wedding bands, we read the many great reviews for Dan Martin Music on various websites. After speaking with Dan on the phone we decided to book them for our wedding (for both cocktail hour and the reception). Dan was extremely easy to deal with throughout the entire process, and made us feel extremely comfortable. Because they were so easy to deal with, and were so professional, we knew we had made the right decision to go with them before they even played a single song on our wedding day.
And on our wedding day, we couldn't have been more pleased. My wife loves jazz and the 1920s, so during cocktail hour she asked them to play a list of songs from that era. The trio played brilliantly. For our reception, we had a quintet play. We asked that they learn several songs (including our first dance song) and we were so impressed with their rendition for each. After dinner, they picked up the pace of the songs a bit, and everyone danced the night away. Everytime I was either on the dance floor, or looking at the dance floor, it was packed. They are such talented musicians. So many people came up to us to tell us how great the band was. DMM were so good that my father-in-law actually asked them for a CD, which Dan promptly sent to him within a few days.
There are so many details to worry about when you plan a wedding. If you book DMM, the last detail you'll need to worry about is the music. It's taken care of. So professional, courteous, and just extremely easy to work with.
Dan, thanks again for playing our wedding. You guys were amazing.

Dear Andrew and Inna:
Thank you so much! We were happy to play for your beautiful wedding!
Best,
Dan

Where do I start? I can't say enough wonderful things about these guys. My husband and I worked with a LOT of different vendors for our wedding, and Dan Martin Music was hands down our favorite.
Not only do they have incredible raw talent when it comes to their music, but their professionalism throughout the ENTIRE hiring process--from initial contract to event performance--was unparalleled.
Dan consistently went out of his way to ensure that my husband and I had EXACTLY what we desired--whether it was choosing musician options for our quartet or ensuring songs or genres that we wanted to hear during our ceremony & cocktail hour. Upon our special request, Dan even transcribed the theme from Disney/Pixar's "UP" to play at our ceremony. It was absolutely beautiful, and it was one of my favorite moments from our wedding day.
When we were caught in a jam with our DJ running late for our reception, the guys even stayed an extra 15 minutes beyond their booking time to ensure that there was no lapse in music from our cocktail hour to reception. About ten different people came up to me during our cocktail hour alone and asked where we had found such a phenomenal quartet. In fact, my neighbor already plans on hiring Dan Martin Music for his next party!
So many wedding bands try to be too flashy when it comes to their performances and catching the attention of your crowd. Unlike those bands, Dan Martin Music had one focus at our wedding--to do their job, and to do it well. I'd recommend these guys to anyone in a heartbeat (and already have been to my newly engaged friends!). A true class act, and the humblest group of musicians I've ever met. They'll give you a performance that will knock your socks off. Guaranteed.

We booked Dan Martin's group for our Mother's 90th birthday party and they were all we ever hoped for. The party was geared to an older age group and the music they performed was timely (the 40's and 50's). They were professional and did everything we asked them to do. On top of all that, they are terrific musicians. I have no doubt we will be using them again in the future. I highly recommend Dan Martin Music for any event.

Dan Martin Music was great and really easy to work with! They helped us out last minute with two great musicians to play music during a retail event. The musicians were prompt and professional, and open to playing a mix of songs I provided. It was a great event that made our customers very happy. I highly recommend hiring them for any event, corporate or private.

We reached out to Dan to inquire about playing a funeral - not only was he responsive and caring, he got terrific musicians together on one day's notice - it was truly a blessing.
The performers who played were perfect in terms of repertoire and instruments and arrived nearly and hour early. They had terrific personalities and were genuinely likable. They also consulted with family members to make sure everything in the service was perfect, from start to finish.
I cannot say enough good things about my experience working with Dan Martin Music and only hope we have an opportunity to use them again for a more festive occasion.

First time using Dan Martin and they were fabulous. Very professional but very friendly. Willing to do whatever was needed. The music was so appropriate for the event- I didn't have to spend time explaining what we needed, they just knew. Would hire them again and they would be my first choice -

What to Expect
We’re so glad you’re here. Four things to know about us:
1. We’re friendly, flexible, top-shelf musicians who love the worldwide evolution of jazz in the 20th century. And who play like people in love.
2. We’re not so much a jazz band as an emotional weather system. We’re a party on Gatsby’s lawn. We’re a cobblestone street in Paris at dusk. We’re a nightclub in Rio. We’re the early hours of the morning in the French Quarter of New Orleans. We’re a mood, an atmosphere, an experience.
3. We’re here for you. We love talking with clients about styles and song lists. We know thousands of songs, and we’re always eager to try new songs and new arrangements. We’re also magically able to transform ourselves into different combinations, from a duo to a septet—anything with guitar, piano, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, or vocals (plus clarinet, banjo, and accordion!).
5. We were Gigmasters’ 2016, 2017 and 2018 Top Jazz Ensemble, we’ve won “Best of Gigmasters” awards five years in a row, and we’ve played with people like Herbie Hancock, Chaka Khan, and Ray Charles. But we don’t play for likes, or ratings, or stars. We play for love, we play for lovers, and we’d love to play for you.
Additional Booking Notes
Our setup is simple! Most often, the only things we need are:
— chairs without arms
— access to one regular power outlet
— a place to put instrument cases
We bring all the necessary audio equipment to be heard by your guests. If you need additional audio equipment, for example a PA system for speeches, we would be happy to provide one for a small additional fee.
