Wow, we were so impressed with Heather! She truly captured a crowd of 20 kids and they looooovvved it! It was perfect and exactly what we were looking for.
Imagination Band held a lot of kids attention in their talented hands! So good!
Heather came by for my little one's first birthday party. She was on time and very accommodating. She engaged kids between the ages 1 -7 beautifully. They seemed to have had a blast. My little guy just loved the excitement. He enjoyed dancing for the music and was delighted to see his sister and cousins jumping around during story time. I highly recommend this group for little kids especially toddlers!
Heather also sang my baby's birthday song which was very special.
Thank you imaginationband for the wonderful party entertainment.
I hired Imagination Band for a client's backyard party. Heather jumped right in and performed with the kids on the grass, despite the lack of a table or a place to put her things. She set up quickly and made the props and puppets work for the show. If you have 2-5 year olds who need unique and engaging entertainment, this is who you should hire! We will definitely be working together again.
I contacted ImaginationBand when my original desired puppeteers couldn't make it. I wanted to make sure all the kids at my son's 3rd birthday party had a good time. I originally spoke to Heather and she was lovely, but I didn't realize that she would not be at the party. Only one of them goes to each party, but that was definitely not made clear to me as I thought they were a band. So when Matt contacts me a couple of days before the party to tell me that he would be the only one performing, I already had some concerns, but it was too late to change plans (though they offered to refund my down payment). I specifically asked Matt if the show was high energy because the kids attending are young and easily distracted, he reassured me that he never had any problems keeping kids' attentions.
The day of the party, Matt arrived promptly and set up. We corralled the kids, but, unfortunately, the show was not enough to keep the attention of the kids. Matt was often performing to 1-2 kids at a time and often to noone at all. The only part that the kids came back to with enthusiasm was the parachute. I appreciate that they write their own music, but I think one or two familiar songs thrown in would have helped. Also, it is definitely NOT a puppet show. The puppets only make some special appearances. Too bad because my son really liked the puppets and wanted more of them.
I think this option would be a fine option for someone looking for a storytelling time, but definitely NOT the right option for an already lively party. I learned a valuable lesson not to hire people when I don't know their show personally, but it was an expensive lesson to learn as I'm out $200 and it did not add anything to my party.
Response from ImaginationBand:
Unfortunately not all gigs go as planned. We had some major communication issues with the client leading up to the gig. She seemed very confused about what to expect from us despite repeated conversations and emails laying out our show. We offered her a refund which she refused. We did the gig anyway and very quickly realized it was not an ideal situation for our work. Oh well! Live and learn.
Heather was a wonderful musician and storyteller! My 2 year old daughter was captivated by the "Jungle Adventure" Heather took her and 10 other friends on. They danced, sang and were mesmerized by the puppets! The highlight was the parachute at the end. All the adults were impressed by Heathers understanding of development and the needs of the ages present at the party. I would hire her again in a heartbeat! The memories we have of our daughters cheers and delight will be with us for a lifetime. Thank you Imagination Band!
Matt was the captain for our son's 1st birthday party! Every child's birthday party deserve a good ol' story telling, not just any, but with Imagination Band. The kids who participated went home happy. Even the parents were like "That was such a good idea!"
I was imagining that we might need some planned fun at my grandson's 3rd birthday party given that it was destined to be a rainy November home party. My communication with Matt prior to the party went very well and he seemed to totally understand our hopes for keeping active youngsters focused in happy musical play. He arrived right on time and set up quickly as he began to engage the children. He allowed for all the variations that happen with children in this young age group and never tried to control them but instead coaxed them in a fun way to enter into silly songs and actions and dancing and laughter. What an uplifting way to begin our party and yes I would highly recommended the Imagination Band for a birthday party!
Imagination Band was an awesome addition to my son's 4th birthday party. The kids absolutely loved it and were so engaged. Matt kept the kids singing and dancing and having so much fun. I got lots of raves from the other parents, too.
Matt came to entertain kids in a range of ages (1-4) for our son's 1st birthday. It was a wonderful experience! He arrived prepared with props, puppets, instruments (for himself and the kids) and led a group on an imaginative jungle journey. The 3-4 year old set were SO into the imaginative end- "driving" a Jeep through the jungle and making a pretend campfire soup. The littles loved dancing to the music, interacting with the puppets, and shaking instruments. And eveyone loved the parachute! It was the perfect length of time to engage (45 min). I would highly recommend them for your kid's party!
The performer engaged the kids in song, storytelling and interactive activities with the kids. Nice company to work with.
Matt came down to Puyallup for Cascade Christian's Early Learning Centers Summer Camp. The kids LOVED him and all of his songs.
Matt did a great job with our large and chaotic birthday party for my 2 year old son. He sang songs, played instruments, and had "guest visitor" puppets. In addition, he pulled out egg shakers, bells, a parachute, and other fun things to engage the 3 and under crowd. Even some of the older kids were entertained. Thanks, Matt!
I found you guys through a google search and I'm glad I did. You guys showed up on time, took control of the room and pulled the kids together. We had kids ranged from 2-5 and they were all engaged for most of the time. Thank you so much for spending your Sunday with us!
We hired ImaginationBand for our son's 4th birthday party. The did a great job with the kids, taking them on an interactive musical adventure! The kids had a great time, and ImaginationBand kept their attention and drew the initially hesitant kids in. Their style is very interactive, so the kids get to dance, sing and play instruments. It was a great event for the party, and I highly recommend them!
I would highly recommend ImaginationBand!
Heather and Matt are absolutely lovely, warm people, and are both terrific with children. The activities they bring are a combination of their original music and pretend journey to a magical island, which is interactive and includes all sorts of props, songs and dance. The kids at our party absolutely loved that!
Remarkably, that worked well for a range of age groups – we had children from 1.5 years all the way to 5, and everyone was on board. Heather and Matt did such a wonderful job of incorporating all the children and appealing to all ages.
They were also great about adapting to last minutes changes, as we had many children out sick that day and a few late kids, and they were flexible and helpful in adapting on the spot to all these changes.
ImaginationBand came and performed at our twins first birthday party and all the children and even the parents had a fun time. The activities worked well for a range of ages.
Pre event communications were easy as was payment. Pricing was reasonable and we would gladly use them again.
The Imagination Band, along with their feature puppet Sammie the Raccoon, offers such an engaging and unique adventure. We look forward to meeting them again soon.
A perfect fit for our Mom's Group! Thank you!

Influences & Inspiration
We are a completely interactive musical storytelling experience. Think of a children's music class meeting story time with puppets and dance, all together! We all play a variety of instruments together and discover new worlds with our imaginations, with elements of "choose your own adventure" as children's unique ideas are incorporated every time!
We have minimal requests for our performance spaces. All we need is a table to place instruments on, and a power source for our speakers and computer sound.
