August 5, 2019I was in search for a musician to perform when proposing to my GF in Central Park New York. I came across GiG Salad and made a post of what I was looking for. Rene then responded to my post with an instant quote on how much it would be and that he was more than happy to take on the gig for this special moment. Rene gave me a very cost friendly quote and also was able to perform the song I had requested. That weekend had high chances of rain and Rene was very nice enough to offer that he can have a friend tag along with him to hold an umbrella while he plays at no cost!! That friend of his also helped sing too! with no extra charge!! (I tipped them of course). All in all, Goddess Lakshmi gets 5 stars!

You will hear a few, instantly recognizable, touchstone blues classics that are the at the heart of American music interwoven with a broad range of original material extrapolated from those roots. We are all highly skilled musicians with a lot of live performance experience. We talk to our audiences, engage them directly and help them to enjoy themselves. In 2011 The Goddess Lakshmi cut it's teeth for one and a half years with a weekly residence at the rough and tumble Paris Blues in Harlem. We have performed throughout New York City at venues that include; Mercury Lounge, the historic Bitter End, Pianos, Parkside Lounge, Spike Hill, The Way Station and The Paper Box.
We have interviewed/performed live on WHCR Harlem, WEMF Boston, WTCC Hartford, WLFR Pomona NJ, WXCI Danbury Ct. and Radio X in Frankfurt Germany. Our latest album Live at The Harlem Flophouse is currently in rotation on over 180 terrestrial radio stations. We are currently charting on the Roots Music Review at #37 nationally.
Our recent Mayflower Tour began at Pianos in New York City and took us to; Springfield, Hartford, Becket, Lowell, Boston, Philadelphia, Fairfax, Washington DC, and Baltimore.
We are a self contained unit and can provide all of the needed equipment for small to medium sized events. For large events we can hire and co-ordinate the sound and lighting artists needed for the site or venue.
