What to expect

Are you ready to laugh? I'm Dr. Lynette Charity, a retired anesthesiologist, author, keynote speaker and comedian! That's right, I'm a funny anesthesiologist now trained to not put you to sleep! My comedy set takes you on a journey from my growing up in the segregated south, to attending medical school, to marrying a doctor and even jokes about some of my patients. There's comedy material everywhere. I do primarily clean comedy, however I do have some jokes about body parts. Nothing raunchy. I did take anatomy in medical school. I promise that will have a good gaffaw. And remember, laughter is the best medicine.

About

Dr. Lynette Charity is a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist and stand-up comic. After over 40 years of "putting people to sleep", she decided it was time to "wake them up" using comedy. Her journey to comedy started at the age of 60, with joining Toastmasters and winning multiple trophies doing speech contests. She made it to the "almost" big stage at the World Championship of Public Speaking in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia where she won a third place trophy in the semi-finals. After that, she decided to go pro! She started a professional speaking business under the name "DrCharitySpeaks". All was right in the world until the pandemic hit. At the beginning, with no vaccine yet, Dr. Charity decided to sequester at home and do presentations on zoom and podcasts. This did not fulfill an internal need to be amongst a live audience. After working hard on her new career and getting the vaccine, she ventured out as a stand up comic. It was scary and fun! Now at the age of 70, she has continued to hone her craft with open-mics and paid gigs. She would like to take her new talent and use it in corporate events that need an endorphin rush through laughter. It truly is the best medicine.
When Dr. Charity is not getting her "funny" on, she spends quality time with her husband and her grandson. She presently resides in Gilbert, AZ where it's a DRY heat.
