December 28, 2015Fantastic Musicians!
Elijah and his partner Andrew rocked our party with non stop blues and jazz. Not only are they talented guitarists, but professional and soulful beyond their years. Our guests enjoyed them so much they took up a collection to keep them playing for another hour. Thanks for making my 60th the best party ever!

About
Elijah Cole is a jazz musician from the Washington, D.C. area.
Elijah began performing professionally at the age of 15, and was working regularly throughout DC and Baltimore by his senior year of high school. He was fortunate to find many mentors in the DC music scene, such as Paul Carr and Michael Bowie, who nurtured his talent and encouraged him to pursue a career in music. After high school, he moved to Philadelphia to pursue his studies further at Temple University, where he was a member of the top big band (under the direction of Terell Stafford) and the top small group (under the direction of Dick Oatts). At Temple, Elijah had the opportunity to learn from jazz legends such as Peter Bernstein, Mike Moreno, and Rodney Green, and performed with Fred Hersch and Randy Brecker. Elijah recently graduated from Temple with a degree in jazz studies, finishing in 3 years.
Elijah has performed at venues such as Blues Alley, the Mid-Atlantic Jazz Festival, The Kennedy Center, SOUTH, and Chris' Jazz Cafe. Currently residing in Philadelphia, he can be found performing regularly around the city. His music blends avant-garde, straight-ahead, and contemporary influences into a unique sound that delivers a powerful emotional message. His mission is to create music that stimulates the mind, soul, and spirit of his listeners.
