About
My heart sings the songs of my universe-soul existence — melodies shaped by ancestry, intuition, and the sacred rhythm of my own becoming. I’ve been singing since the age of three, born from the bayous of Louisiana where music rises from the water like prayers to the heavens.
My vocal style is a fusion of spiritual healing jazz, meditative chant, and operatic sensuality — a sound that soothes the soul, awakens the body, and invites a gentle sway into deeper feeling. I blend jazz standards, original jazzy compositions, lo-fi rhythms, Afro beat pulses, and house influences, creating a sonic experience that is both grounding and transcendent.
From childhood through my formative years, I studied music with devotion. I trained at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (NOCCA) and continued my musical education at the University of New Orleans, studying under legendary masters Harold Battiste and Ellis Marsalis. Their teachings shaped my ear, my discipline, and my reverence for the craft.
After a long hiatus from performance and a journey of rebuilding my life in Washington State, I have returned — renewed, rooted, and ready. I am now bringing my unique vocal alchemy to the Seattle area, offering performances that weave healing, sensuality, and soul into every note.
My voice is my medicine. My music is my offering. And this next chapter is my return to the stage, the spirit, and the sound that has always lived within me.

Influences and inspiration
My vocal style is a tapestry woven from the voices of the women who shaped the soundscape of my soul music. Sade taught me the power of softness — the sensual hush, the intimate whisper, the ability to hypnotize a room with restraint. Tina Turner gave me fire: the raw edge, the emotional grit, the fearless embodiment of passion that rises from the belly and shakes the air.
From Diana Ross, I learned elegance — the poised, shimmering presence, the ability to float a note with grace and glamour. Muriel Smith, through Carmen Jones, showed me the beauty of operatic depth and dramatic storytelling, inspiring the “operatic temptress” within my sound.
Aretha Franklin gifted me soul sovereignty — the unapologetic power, the gospel kissed phrasing, the emotional truth that cracks open the heart. Mahalia Jackson rooted me in spirit, teaching me that a voice can be prayer, healing, and liberation all at once.
And Dianne Reeves shaped my jazz sensibility — the fluid improvisation, the warm velvet tone, the mastery of phrasing that dances effortlessly between tradition and innovation.
Together, these women form the constellation that guides my voice: sensual like Sade, fiery like Tina, elegant like Diana, operatic like Muriel, soulful like Aretha, sacred like Mahalia, and jazz wise like Dianne Reeves with honorary mention of Billie Holiday, Sara Vaughn, and Ella Fitzgerald.
Their influence lives in every note I sing — a universe-soul lineage carried forward through my own sound. ASHE
