Overview

I am a Celtic harpist who can play traditional Irish and Scottish music. With my son Austin who is a master of the mandolin, we can play jigs, reels, hornpipes and also quiet airs. Suitable for quiet ambient instrumental music at a party or meditative space or can do a noisy fun show with upbeat songs, or also a complete cultural program about Ireland, Scotland, or traditional music. We are experienced in doing casuals, playing in churches, schools, world music festivals, Celtic games, Advent Spirals, Tartan Services, Irish Festivals, Highland games, care facilities, corporate events and Renaissance Fairs.

What to expect

My name is Dennis Doyle. I’m a Celtic harpist, singer, storyteller and I am writing in hopes of being able to perform at your next event. I have roots in Co Wicklow, Ireland. I currently perform as a harp/mandolin duo with my son Austin. We perform Irish and Scottish, jigs, reels, hornpipes and traditional airs. I sing in English and Irish and tell stories about the music. We do a program of traditional Celtic music. I have an interest in the fiddle and harp music of all the old bards who circulated in the Celtic countries. Besides stage shows we can do music workshops, spoken word presentations, perform for tea ceremonies, Advent Spiral, renaissance fairs, clann luncheons, Catholic liturgy and Tartan Services.
We have played in most of the major Irish festivals and Highland games in North America including Milwaukee, Cleveland, Bethlehem Celtic Classic, So California Scottish Fest, Hamilton Bitterroot Montana Games, Ligonier Pennsylvania, and much more. I have toured Ireland and Scotland collecting music and have performed in Dublin, Galway, Oxford and London. I have published four book collections of arrangements of traditional music, available from Mel Bay or Amazon.
