I almost gave up hopes on having a harpist for our wedding on a tiny island after contacting several other harpists and calling barge and ferry companies. Then, by stroke of luck, we got lucky enough to come across Anna Maria. She has travelled extensively to perform, including in the Vatican. She called the ferry herself to figure out the arrangement to bring a relatively big harp over to play all kinds of tunes (some other harpists only offered to bring the teeny tiny harp due to difficulty transporting harp). She played all kinds of beautiful tunes during out wedding. Anna Maria was amazing for our Catholic ceremony. Her music was sooo good and she helped sing responses and lead the ceremony. She picked the right color of the outfit to go with our wedding. She decorated her harp making it so beautiful to display. She made amazing suggestions to build up the grand entrance of the bride at the ceremony. She coordinated with the priest and the coordinator professionally and seamlessly giving us a stress-free event! If you want professional and stress-free performer for your ceremony, book her!!!

Words cannot express how utterly amazing Anna Maria's masterful harp performance was at our private family event. She is a true artiste, who not only played with grace, style, passion, beauty and love, but who also was an absolute joy to work with. In company with her suggestion of a soloist - the unbelievably talented opera soprano Chelsea Hollow - Anna Maria designed the musical program for our event in a way that was sensitive to our desires; she really did thrill all of us with a moving, uplifting and beautiful performance (she and Chelsea together) that was heartfelt and wildly, wildly wonderful. Anna Maria, our harpist this past Friday for our Mother's Day tea party was absolutely wonderful. She was incredibly professional, kind and truly amazing to listen to and watch. She arrived early, set up the harp and took the time to change into an elegant gown and created such a beautiful atmosphere with her music.
My memory care residents were completely captivated watching and listening to her perform. She was so patient, gently and engaging with them which made the experience ever more special. Her talent and warm personality made a lasting impression on everyone in the community.
Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and I would absolutely hire her again. Highly recommend!

BIOGRAPHY:
Anna Maria Mendieta, a multi-award winning artist, enjoys a busy career as a soloist, orchestral musician, recording artist and teacher. She is based in California (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Sacramento) and is the principal harpist with the Sacramento Philharmonic and Opera and has performed with orchestras and chamber music groups across the country and abroad with reviews published internationally by the League of American Orchestras as an "exceptional and charismatic soloist". Orchestras she has performed with include the San Francisco Symphony, San Francisco Opera, San Francisco Ballet, Russian National Orchestra, the Russian State Ballet, Orquesta Sinfonica y Coro JMJ (Madrid), as well as a music video for the LA Philharmonic. She has performed for Pope Benedict XVI, President Clinton, President Gorbachev, the King and Queen of Spain; for National Hispanic Week in Washington D.C., World Youth Day events in Madrid, and for a special concert for the Pope at the Vatican in Rome. Her latest album "Tango Del Cielo" (Tango of Heaven) debuted at #2 on Billboard's Classical Crossover Charts and has won many international awards including 4 Global Music Awards.
With many albums to her credit, Anna Maria has appeared in movies, music videos, television, NPR, and the Emmy Awards. She has performed with many celebrities including opera singer Frederica von Stade, Andrea Bocelli, Josh Groban, Frank Sinatra Jr., Johnny Mathis, Olivia Newton John, Moody Blues, Fernando de la Mora, Charlotte Church, and Barry Manilow, who calls her his "favorite harpist".
