Overview

The Dead Magnolia String Band is a semi-traditional bluegrass unit comprised solely of New Orleans musicians. The band joined in 2025 after meeting at New Orleans historic Monday Night Picking' party and has since gone on to play festivals & shows across the Gulf South, including opening for Grammy & IBMA award-winning bluegrass acts/artists like Bronwyn Keith Hynes, Jason Carter, and the Po' Ramblin' Boys. While the DMSB is firmly rooted in a traditional, clean, hard-driven bluegrass sound, they often experiment across styles, recreating blues, soul, grunge, and honky-tonk standards to fit their string arrangements.
