July 28, 2026Magical!
What a perfectly delightful evening Act of Congress made possible at Automatic Seafood for my son’s Rehearsal Dinner. EVERYONE was blown away; the music was stellar and the scene was enhanced beautifully by their special talents. This group truly MADE the whole night! We were so grateful to have chosen them for this magical evening.
Sincerely,
Mary Pat & Jack Manfredi

July 27, 2026The best wedding band we could ask for
Act of Congress is INCREDIBLE! They brought the party to our reception and truly made the night so much fun. I continue to have people ask me who our band was at the wedding because 1. they loved them and 2. they want to get on their schedule. They played the perfect mixture of folky party bangers and I couldn't have asked for better musicians. They are really easy to work with and communicate with, and everything was seamless. Just listen to them once and you will want to hire them too!

What to expect
A four-piece acoustic band that brings professional concert quality to your event. Two guitars, bass, and fiddle with four-part harmony. They arrive early, set up their own PA, and are stage-ready before your first guest walks in. Sets run 45 minutes each with a break, flexible to fit your schedule. You'll have direct contact with a band member throughout the planning process, no agency, no run-around.
About
Act of Congress has been performing together since 2006 — two decades, one consistent lineup. That kind of stability is rare, and you'll notice it the moment they take the stage.
They're based in Birmingham, Alabama, but their reach goes well beyond it. They've performed in 12 countries as U.S. Cultural Ambassadors for the State Department, appeared six times with the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, and have been featured on NPR. Their clients have included Disney, Google, the State Department, and hundreds of couples, companies, and churches across the Southeast.
What makes Act of Congress different from most bands you'll find for hire is how they work. There's no agency involved, no middleman, no coordinator passing messages back and forth. When you reach out, you're talking directly to a band member. You'll get a straight answer on pricing within one business day, real availability (not a hold), and someone who's genuinely invested in how your event goes — because we're the ones who show up and play it.
For weddings: Act of Congress has performed at some of Alabama's most celebrated venues — from The Club to The Elyton, from mountain estates to garden ceremonies. They handle cocktail hours, ceremonies, and full receptions. They read the room, pace the evening, and keep the dance floor full without ever overpowering the experience. Their song list spans 80+ songs across pop, soul, folk, country, and Americana — and they're happy to learn a special request.
For corporate events: Whether it's a company gala, client reception, conference dinner, or outdoor festival, Act of Congress understands what corporate clients need: professionalism, flexibility, and music that serves the room rather than competes with it. They show up on time, set up efficiently, and deliver a performance that reflects well on whoever booked them.
For churches: They've performed church concerts across the South — hymns, original acoustic music, and full worship-style sets. They're comfortable in sanctuaries, fellowship halls, and outdoor amphitheaters, and they bring original recordings from their three studio albums for merch and post-concert sales.
For holiday and Christmas events: Christmas with Act of Congress is a fully developed holiday show — traditional carols, original arrangements, and the warmth of four close-harmony voices. Available as background music, as a holiday concert, or as the full entertainment for your company Christmas party.
Music style: Original folk-Americana with rich four-part harmony. Covers span top 40, pop, soul, classic rock, country, and Americana. Think tight acoustic arrangements that sound full and professional without requiring a massive stage setup.
What you get: A four-piece band (two guitars, bass, fiddle/vocals) with their own professional PA and sound equipment. They handle all setup and sound check before your guests arrive. Performances typically run two 45-minute sets with a short break, but set lengths are flexible based on your event timeline.
Geography: Based in Birmingham, AL. Regularly serve all of Alabama, Nashville, Atlanta, and the greater Southeast. Available nationally.
Additional booking notes
Act of Congress provides their own professional PA system up to 400 guest. They need access to "2" standard 110V electrical outlets within 50 feet of the performance area. For outdoor events, a covered stage or tent is preferred but not always required (they'll discuss with you based on the forecast). They arrive 60–90 minutes before the event start time for setup and sound check. A green room or backstage area is appreciated but not required.
