We are a 5 to 6 piece band that performs standards from Tin Pan Alley to the Great American Songbook. Our specialty is smooth, swinging numbers as well as sultry, jazzy ballads. We are flexible and just recently played a set of Roaring 20s music for a Great Gatsby-themed event. Dan Arnold's vocals are reminiscent of Sinatra, Mel Torme, Bobby Darin, Louis Armstrong & Harry Connick Jr. The rest of the band consists of trumpet, saxophone, piano, jazz guitar, stand up bass and drums. Ideal for restaurants, pubs, corporate events, private parties and weddings.

August 13, 2015Joe Whitney and his group (Dan Arnold and the Swinging Standards) played at our wedding on August 1 2015, and the quality of the music was absolutely fantastic. They set a great atmosphere and their jazz was just what we needed for a big crowd with mixed ages and tastes: up-beat and fun, beautiful sound, and neutral enough to be played during the meal without disrupting conversation. Their guitarist also played for our ceremony and helped us choose processionals and recessionals, which was great. The band was very flexible and responsive, offering to set up 3 times in 3 different locations, and offered very reasonable prices for a tremendous outcome. They brought all their equipment with them and everyone loved them. Highly recommend!
