Hi Scott, thanks again for the opportunity to perform for your event. You and your family are what real class is like. The staff at Soma Winery was very considerate. I think everyone had good time, I know I did.

What to expect

An interesting mix of recognizable instrumental guitar standards combined with original compositions and imaginatively arranged covers from different eras. All performed with artistic precision and interpretation. An elegant mix of past and present styles.

About

As a solo guitarist I have played a lot of situations. I have enough material, originals, and covers where I can configure a program and slant it a certain direction. I t is not a classical concert, but it can include classical guitar standards. I can do wedding preludes like Cannon in D, Jesu Joy of Mans Desiring, The Prayer, quite a few classic love songs. I have several things that work very well for wedding processionals or recessionals, as well as the traditional bridal march. I do things that work well on guitar. Some piano pieces work well on the guitar, but the guitar has its own literature, and I do a lot of arranging. Most things that are well written melodically can be arranged for solo guitar. However, because of the idiomatic needs of the guitar, I don't promise to do last minute requests. With enough advance notice, I will consider arranging songs I don't already perform, because I like to keep my repertoire growing. I like detailed discussions before a special booking to make sure that I can deliver what the customer is expecting. For example, a lot of people think guitar players sing. Some people think a solo guitar will replace a band.
The solo acoustic guitar, when well played, can be exciting, interesting, elegant, enjoyable, and entertaining. I have played for art shows, corporate dinners and receptions, chambers of commerce, fund raising events, cable television, live radio, and festivals, to name a few situations for which I have performed.
After contact I can furnish more info and demos and discuss a possible program.

Additional booking notes

I like to be notified if there will be no or low lighting so we can bring music stand lights and additional chords and power strips. If there will be bright stage lighting, I also like to know in advance.
