Great band, duo, or solo group.

Tom Blair has put together a great band, and is just as good as a duo with Amanda, or just solo.
We have really enjoyed the shows, and he has so much variety.
It works for everyone, classic rock to much more current music.

Hired as: 1970s Era Entertainment, 1980s Era Entertainment, Acoustic Band, Classic Rock Band, Guitarist, Rock Band, Southern Rock Band

Oh no! Sorry you had that experience. Maybe you’ll be interested to know that we do not have the same bass player from the summer of 2022. Thankfully the players that we have hired recently have had great feedback from the fans.

Great duo!

I have seen the BOL duo a few times at Center Street Tavern. They are always great. I love how they take requests via text. And they do a perfect rendition of Patience by GnR!

Booking information

Price range: $400 solo / $800 duo / $1200 band and up

Gig length: 120 - 180 minutes

What to expect

BlairOutLoud BAND performs 2-3 hours, either 2 hours straight through, or with one small break in between 2 larger sets. Expect great classic rock anthems, like Foreigner's "Feels Like The First Time" or Marshall Tucker's "Can't You See" featuring Amanda Blair on the flute. We get the crowd moving with 80's hits like "Everybody Wants You", "Don't Stop Believin'", or "Hurts So Good", or we hit 'em with more blues based rockers like "Pride And Joy" and "Sharp Dressed Man". Of course, there's always the 90’s jams like Faith No More's "Epic", or Alanis Morissette's "You Oughta Know", or Foo Fighter's "Everlong" or even a few from the 2000's like "The Middle" from Jimmy Eat World for example.

Regardless of our set lists, if you have specific songs that you would like us to learn for your event, with enough lead-time we can make that happen. Also, if you would like specific pre-recorded music to be played on breaks, or as guests arrive, or for an afterparty (while the band is breaking down), we can also accommodate this type of request!

Acoustic sets:
BlairOutLoud DUO:
Tom and Amanda breakdown a lot of the songs from our massive playlists into more intimate acoustic versions, and also have several songs that the full band doesn't perform, like "Valerie" by Amy Winehouse, and "Killing Me Softly" by Roberta Flack/Fugees. Many people hire the DUO for the diversity of music and the dynamic that Tom and Amanda Blair bring to the performance.

BlairOutLoud SOLO:
Tom Blair performs around metro Atlanta 4-5 times a week, mostly in a solo acoustic fashion. He engages the crowd, asks for requests after he hands out a music menu, an 11x17 laminated sheet of songs for the audience to pick from. His number is on the sheet and he encourages them to text message him during the performance. As the requests roll in, Tom keeps the party hopping, knocking out requests, urging the crowd to sing along.

Tom stands when he performs, bringing the same live energy and enthusiasm of the rock show, but can also perform quieter, where lower volume is requested. Lastly, Tom can perform instrumental sets to provide great live background music for various functions.

About

Tom Blair has been performing in bands around metro Atlanta for over 25 years! Originally carving out a spot in the underground metal scene of Atlanta, Tom's band Colossick worked to dominate the region starting heavily in 2004, and rolling strong into 2009. Colossick was signed to a promotional deal from Jägermeister and played on Jäger stages and festivals throughout '07 and '08.

After the economy faltered in 2009, Colossick went on hiatus, and by 2010, Tom was starting to get requests to play with local hard rock cover bands. There was reluctance to join cover band acts (instead of continuing to push original content), but Tom soon re-discovered the joy of musical entertainment, and decided to dive in. Up through 2019, Tom was a member of 3-4 different bands, performing shows (including acoustic and electric gigs) all over, with a gig record in 2019 of 247 shows!

After years of performing in various cover and tribute bands, Tom amassed a huge list of songs from several genres and across several decades. This was the catalyst for creating BlairOutLoud. At first, BlairOutLoud was just used to promote his solo acoustic shows. Soon, other players were added into the mix including his wife Amanda Blair, with an academic musical history of her own.

Amanda Blair grew up studying classical piano, flute, and sang in the Georgia State University Singers, performing both locally and internationally. In 2018 she joined a female-led local rock act that played 90s alternative called You Oughta Know. Tom was the guitarist for this band, and Tom and Amanda got a taste of what it was like to perform together on stage. This group disbanded at the end of 2019.. but Tom and Amanda wanted to continue performing in this capacity.

Fast forward to today here are the current offerings:
1. Tom Blair offers an energetic solo acoustic show simply called BlairOutLoud.. or referred to as BlairOutLoud SOLO, performing hits from 60s to today, engaging the crowd, taking requests, and having a blast.

2. Tom and Amanda offer the BlairOutLoud DUO, still an acoustic offering but with added keys, flute, extra percussion, and added female lead vocal songs. This is great for a livelier feel, but still lower on volume.

3. Tom sometimes hires a bass player and drummer (can be acoustic or electric) for a little more volume and energy and performs as BlairOutLoud TRIO. The TRIO plays harder rock and plays material more suited for meat and potatoes rock and metal fans.

4. Amanda Blair rejoins the trio to become BlairOutLoud BAND. The band offers the widest selection of music, focusing on killer classic rock, 80s danceable hits, and 90s alternative flair. This line-up has the most versatile playlist, with male and female lead vocal songs, lots of keyboard driven music (think "Jump" or Journey material), and has the most production value with lighting, sound, and crowd engagement.

WE WOULD LOVE TO ENTERTAIN AT YOUR NEXT EVENT!
When you ask for a quote, we will want to clarify which line-up you are interested in, and then create a quote based on time, travel, and production needed. The ability to travel will depend on budget and lead-time.

Last but not least, we offer wedding services! At a recent engagement, Amanda performed the ceremony on keys, and Tom performed solo acoustic during the cocktail hour. For the reception, Tom offered DJ services for the dance party as well as announcing the wedding party's arrival. So if you are looking for music for your wedding, Tom and Amanda would be happy to put together a quote for this as well!

Additional booking notes

Stage and power:
The BAND requests at least 20' x 20' stage area: must be a hard level surface (no grass or dirt), preferably with minimum two separate power sources stage left and right; ideally 3 power sources along the back and a few additional along the front of the stage.
(BAND or TRIO Stage Plot available upon request)

Sound and lighting:
We have everything needed to accommodate a small to mid-size event, up to 200 in attendance. Beyond that we would need additional support either paid for by the venue, or pay us a small additional fee allowing us to internally hire a sound technician that we trust for the occasion. We provide lots of lighting, including party lights, lasers, and some stage fog. For festivals and larger audiences we would appreciate additional sound and lighting support from the venue.

Monitoring:
We wear in-ear monitoring systems (BAND and TRIO line-ups) so we don't need additional speaker monitoring on stage.

For DUO and SOLO events, we bring smaller tower style PA systems (tower speaker that connects into a sub-woofer): 2 units for better volume.. or 1 unit for lower volume and a tighter space.
