December 7, 2025EPIC Party Band!
I hired Used Groove for my husband's 60th birthday party at our house, and they exceeded all expectations! The communication was excellent, they did a "site visit" to map out the layout in our basement for the band's setup, they worked with me on a set list and music preferences, were super engaging with our guests... and did an all-around excellent job. Our friends were raving about how great the band is - and they want us to book them again next year just for the heck of it!

Used Groove is the absolute best! We saw them for the first time in 2024 at Roaring Social in downtown Alpharetta and loved them so much that we also used them for our wedding! They are our favorite band to follow locally and put on the best show. Thank you Used Groove for making our wedding night so special! Y'all rock! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I hired Used Groove to perform at a 40th birthday party. It was outside and hot, but they didn't complain, played all the hits and were festively dressed as well. 10/10 will hire again.

About
Mark Drake
Drums & Lead Vocals
Mark started playing drums on a toy drum set, banging out ‘Love Her Madly’ by the Doors at the age of 4. His sweet grandmother bought him his first “real” set of drums when he was 12, and he’s been playing ever since then. His musical influences in that timeframe have ranged from the great rock and roll of AC/DC to jazz-fusion-progressive bands like King Crimson and Rush. Mark’s skills have honed over the years through formal musical instruction and teaching drums for marching percussion and a variety of music projects ranging from Contemporary Christian to Country-Southern Rock. He’s played with a number of great artists in the past like Tim Smith (Sheryl Crow, Jellyfish, Neil Finn), and Brian Harrison (producer, music director, Shelby Lynne), but today is having the time of his life playing with Shane and Don in Used Groove.
Mike Buckley - Bass Guitar
Mike is from Philadelphia, PA. He has been playing bass since he could fret a note and has been playing music up and down the east coast ever since.
Mike listens to – and plays – just about every type of popular music. From classical, the singer-songwriters of the 60’s, 70’s soft rock and funk, country, metal, and everything in between, he either knows how to play it or can tell you who recorded it. Mike has been part of several successful original and cover bands in Philly and in Georgia.
Jeff Kelly - Guitar (Lead) and Backing Vocals
I didn’t start out wanting to play guitar. Being raised in an Amish home, we really weren’t expected to do anything but the chores. But I “broke Amish” way before it became a popular TV show. I ran away from my settlement in Pennsylvania when I was 15 and literally joined a traveling fair (aka – circus). It was there that I was introduced to a freak show star, Jerry Mander. Jerry could play the ukulele with her feet (her arms were an unfortunate circumstance of a childhood prank – too long a story to tell here). So, I graduated from the ukulele to acoustic guitar, picking out all the Amish songs we sang as a kid. Then I heard a song called Voodoo Chile by Jimmy Hendrix at a fair stop in Wichita and my life was forever changed. It was right then that I took up my whole months wages and bought a cheap Peavey amp and a Squier classic vibe at a pawn shop in Poughkeepsie. Fast forward 40yrs and I’m living my dream life, living with my cat and playing great tunes with the other guys in Used Groove.
Julie Dolan / Keyboards and Vocals
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley, Julie started dancing and performing at the age of 4. Jumped into acting and piano classes and got an agent at the age of 9. Julie first started acting in theatre and then worked her way into commercials, soap operas, After School Specials, Feature films, Episodic TV and danced her way thru Universal Studios Theme Park shows into several Children's TV Series. She became a magician's assistant and did several DOD World Tours for the military performing in Air Force Bases and prisons. As a working keyboard player, Julie has been in several cover and Tribute Bands. As a voice over actor, she won the role of Princess Leia Organa for several Lucas Film projects.
