BLACK IRISH BAND- 36 years in the making and 35 CD albums of original and traditional music. Celtic, American, and original. Known for their rich music stories of Celtic History of their native land but also stories about the Celtic Experance in the 1800 American West. Featured songs about miners, railroaders, sailors, and firefighters. A band too hard to box into a single catagory, the Black Irish Band is original in every way, but with firey fiddle, banjo, melodeon, and bass and guitar, and in this four member group, everyone sings. The band has been featured at many historical events celebrating American, and Scottish & Irish History

One of the most exciting up lifting amazing bands- a one of a kind group that is original as well as traditional. Folks will want to get up to dance and have the time of their live!!! This band can rock the house, no dull sit-down band here- all the members stand and get the crowds up to make them lifelong fans of the Black Irish Band.

About

The Black Irish Band has been together for 36 years and has produced 34 CD albums, and has performed a total of 700 shows. The band met on the set of "Back to the Future 3, cast as the Hill Valley Band. The band has over 200 songs in their play list including Tradional Irish tunes as well as ballads. The band also performs up beat more modern works by the Pouges, Dropkick Murphy's, and Flogging Molly. The band is backed up with dozens of beautiful love song selections of wedding and anniversaries, both Celtic, Itailian, and American Standards. All the musicians in the band also can perform rock & roll classics from the Beatles to Beach Boys, and "Play that Funky Music White Boy" to Shipping Up to Boston.

The band performs as a four member group, but also has a drummer for more dance concert type settings. The instruments in the band are- Accordion, Mandolin, Fiddle, Banjo, Guitar, Stand-up Bass, Trumpet, and all members sing with 4- part harmonies- "A Wall of Sound".
The band will dress for all occations including -Pirate, Celtic, Wild West, Ren-Faire, as well as street dress code, and wedding formal. The band also has it's own sound equipment, for crowds under 200 folks (extra charge) the band can perform with no sound, and can move around for weddings and cocktail parties.

Additional booking notes

We have are own sound that can cover about 200 folks- anymore than that, we would need support from. The band can move around and perform without sound for smaller groups under 200 also, which is perfect for weddings and cocktail parties. The band needs to be covered however from the sun, because of the instruments in general, unless they entertaining around a group.
