Van has been playing the pipes for the past 21 years and his musical talents can change your “OK” event into an “outrageous” event! If you would like to add sizzle and excitement to your special event this year, contact Van to see if he is available. He has a large selection of Scottish, Irish, and American Patriotic tunes as well as Christmas tunes that he can perform at your party or event.
Van's son, Chris, and granddaughter were such a wonderful surprise for our mother's Christmas and 80th birthday surprise. Dressed in full regalia, they played and danced and entertained the whole neighborhood with their songs and talent. Brightened everyone's holiday in this challenging time. So kind and thoughtful. Chris knew it was a surprise and really went all out to play Christmas carols, traditional songs, and "Happy Birthday." Highly recommend to any in the area.
Wow, absolutely awesome. Timing, tunes selected everything about Van and his service was beyond excellent. Everyone committed on what an amazing touch to our fathers father's funeral.
Response from Bagpiping By Van:
Good Afternoon Ken,
I just wanted to drop you a short note to thank you for asking me to play at the funeral services for your father. It was a beautiful day, and a beautiful service and it was an honor for me to be a part of it. I hope the piping and my performance was to your complete satisfaction.
Thank you especially for the generous gratuity. It wasn't expected but it sure was appreciated! Also, thank you for the nice photo as well as a great review of my performance.
If you ever have a need for a piper for anything, please give me a call.
I once again offer my deep condolence for your loss. Based on all those that attended to show final respects and what was said of him, he was a great and wonderful man. Thanks again for asking me to be the piper at his funeral.

Van served a family in our church by playing the bagpipes for their father’s funeral. Van was punctual, he did everything asked of him and he even went beyond! Thank you, Van! If you need a bagpiper- call Van.
Van was awesome. Spent time with me to understand what I wanted for my Mom’s service. Even learned a hymn he wasn’t familiar with. Was at the service promptly. His bag piping was incredible. Moved me to tears really. My Mom would have loved it. I couldn’t recommend him more highly. Barb Carroll
Van was on time and played beautifully
Outstanding! Was for an Irish wedding on the beach. Was confusing, but Van rolled with the flow and made the event spectacular! Thanks so much.
Van was so easy to do business with at an especially difficult time.
He played at my dad's funeral mass and did a wonderful job and really made the final good bye a lasting memory. Would highly recommend him no matter the occasion. He lived up to his commitment and expectations. You will not be disappointed.
Van was an excellent addition to our wedding. We wanted traditional Celtic and we got it. Van was easy to get a hold of and very easy to deal with in terms of expectations and planning. All in all I highly recommend this wonderful man for your Irish/Scottish event!
Van was very professional and receptive to our needs. His performance added a true touch of class to my dad's funeral.
Van showed up right on time and made a grand entrance! He was more accommodating and friendly than we could have hoped. Our guests were absolutely enthralled and excited - having Van pipe at our pre-St. Patrick's Day party AND lead our mini neighborhood parade took the event to the next level. I would HIGHLY recommend Van if you need a piper for your event.
“We, at Honor Flight NV Las Vegas can not thank you enough for the absolute fabulous job you did to help welcome our WWII Veterans home. We wanted to thank you for making the welcome home such a great success. Your performance was like icing on the cake. It made the whole event so memorable to all of us and what you played made it a great ending. You are outstanding, I've never been so close to the music of a bagpipe, it is a very powerful instrument. I know the event was last minute and I really appreciate you stepping up, when we were having so much trouble finding someone. You were awesome! Thanks again.”

Married life is amazing! We are so very happy. I can't thank you enough for being a part of our special day. You were PHENOMENAL! We are so thankful you were there. Everyone just loved it. The family was so surprised and thought it was the best! I can't believe we were actually able to keep it a secret from everyone. My favorite part was when me and my Dad were in the cocktail room "hiding" before the start of the ceremony and you began to play. We were just talking and getting ready for the ceremony to begin and he said "I think I hear pipes!" and then he said "Is that for you?" and I said "No, it's for you". It brought tears to both of our eyes. He was blown away. You made our wedding so very special and meaningful. The pipes are an important part of our heritage and I'm so glad we found you! I hope our paths cross again. We all really enjoyed your tunes. You are very talented! It was the icing on the cake!!!
Price Range: $175 and up
I am available to play the pipes and entertain at any event or occasion such as weddings, funerals, parties, golf tournaments, conventions, school assemblies, Eagle Scout Courts of Honor and any Corporate event.
I love to play my bagpipes. When I’m not busy with my family, you will find me playing my pipes. Along with my solo piping, I have played with the Las Vegas Pipe Band and most recently with the Cross Creek Pipes & Drums pipe band.
In 2008 and again in 2010, my talents were put to use as I was asked to serve as the Pipe Major (band leader) of the Nauvoo Pageant Pipe Band for the historical Nauvoo Pageant that takes place each year in the city of Nauvoo, Illinois.
I BELIEVE THAT NOTHING SPARKS EMOTIONS AT A WEDDING LIKE A BAGPIPER DRESSED IN FULL HIGHLAND REGALIA!
I will perform at your wedding wearing traditional formal, semi-formal or folk Highland dress, whatever fits your wedding's special theme. You may select your tunes from a large variety of stirring music, or trust me to select the perfect music for you.
The most requested service for the Wedding Piper is the “Piping In and Piping Out” of the Bride and Groom and the Wedding Party. Often, the Bride and Groom requests me to play outside the church before and after the wedding ceremony. Sometimes they also request tunes to be played during the ceremony inside the church, during the processional, recessional, or candle lighting.
ONE OF THE OCCASIONS THAT I AM FULFILLED PLAYING MY BAGPIPE MUSIC IS AT FUNERAL CEREMONIES.
Music is the universal communicator and it allows for a sense of closure. Many family members and friends of those that have passed have expressed gratitude to me for providing the music that gave them comfort during that time of deep sorrow.
I am available for graveside, church, home or any other locations for funeral services. I also play at wakes, memorial services, and services of all religious and spiritual practices. One of the most requested and meaningful tunes I perform is Amazing Grace. I also have a great variety of other music suitable for all religions and ethnic groups to make each memorial service unique. And of course, I will come professionally dressed in the traditional formal kilt.
I CAN ADD EXCITEMENT TO YOUR SON’S EAGLE COURT OF HONOR!
Your son has worked hard to earn the prestigious Eagle Scout award and his Court of Honor should be special. Imagine the surprise of your guests as a piper appears dressed in traditional Scottish attire, playing American and Scottish tunes. Imagine the excitement as the Color Guard is piped in with a medley of patriotic tunes.
You no longer have to imagine how exciting it would be. I am available to create that excitement for you and for your son on his special day.
Following the presentation of the Eagle award, I will continue to entertain your guests with patriotic tunes from America, Scotland and Ireland. Bagpipe background music will add to the excitement of the reception or dinner party you have provided for your son.
YOU CAN LEARN TO PLAY THE GREAT HIGHLAND BAGPIPE.
Along with playing the bagpipe, I also teach those who want to learn to play. Now you can learn to play the unique and very popular musical instrument that few people in the world can play! You don’t need a set of bagpipes to start learning to play! All beginning lessons will take place on a “practice chanter” and a free lesson book is included.
I will guide you through the start up process and help you choose the proper Practice Chanter and even advise you when it comes time to purchase your own set of pipes.
I am a very patient instructor and I work equally well with both children and adults. You can start learning to play the pipes at any age, but the earlier you start, the better. Ten would be perfect but you’re never too old to start. I have taught students as young as six years old and as “young at heart” as 71 years old!
You will immediately begin playing the practice chanter and based on your ability, you will soon start playing the Great Highland Bagpipe. When you learn to play at a sufficient level, I will help you join, and play with a local bagpipe band! In the past few years that I have been actively teaching the bagpipe, 16 of my students have successfully played with the Las Vegas Pipe Band. You also can join that special group of pipers.
Individual 50-minute lessons are only $25. Most students choose one lesson a week but for those wanting to start playing the pipes in a shorter time, several lessons a week can be arranged. The choice is yours.
