June 29, 2021Phenomenal, Class act, Reliable. That is Michael Gibbs.
I have known Mr. Gibbs for over 23 years. We met when working for the same company years back. Michael and I connected effortlessly. Getting to know him in his personal life. I found out he was a bagpiper. Something I have always admired and enjoyed listening to, due to my Scottish heritage. Over time I was educated that he plays professionally at events. Many years later we have stayed connected professionally and personally. Being employed with McDougal Funeral Home since a young age. I grew up learning about funeral service and how important it is to many families to have a professional bagpiper. Mr. Gibbs fits that description. From the correct Scotsman attire. To the real ivory bagpipes. I can't think of a better gentleman for the job. Always reliable and arrives early to the funeral or graveside services. His prices are realistic and reasonable. Serving pretty much anywhere you request him to be. He is your man! Michael, I can't thank you enough for all you do for us at McDougal Funeral Home for the families we serve. Keep going strong! Your talent shines in an area needed and desired from veterans to simple family requests.

June 20, 2021Graveside service for our mom was so special..
We are very thankful for the bagpipe talents of Michael Gibbs. He added so much to our mother's graveside service. He explained the crossing over ceremony at the end. My husband who doesn't get emotional about many things had goose bumps as they ended with this ceremony. Thank you so much.

It is always an honor to send someone home in "proper" Scottish fashion. Thank you for allowing myself and Johnny Miner to help you and your family say goodbye in a personal way.

December 6, 2019Michael was a delight to work with
Michael Gibbs played for out family Christmas party and was outstanding. He entered playing Scotland the Brave, did a bit of Q & A that was real fun and played a few more tunes then our family of about 150 people danced around the Christmas tree to which Michael accompanied with Christmas songs that we all sung together. It was a wonderful experience that many will remember fondly for many years.
Thanks Michael,
Jeff

April 25, 2026Great Piper.
Michael is a great piper , I should know I am one myself.
He came at short notice for my 80th birthday party. He had to travel 270 miles each way.
His repertoire is vast.
I am a Breton and I asked him to play the Breton Anthem which is the same as the Welsh one: "Land of my Father".. He played it in a perfect manner.
Everybody thought and was the best fixture of the feast.

What to expect
Dear customer,
As a professional bagpiper and performer I would like to encourage you to put your trust in my 33+ years of piping experience.
I have been called upon to play the bagpipes at just about every sort of event imaginable. I've performed for government officials, heads of state, religious leaders, law enforcement, fire departments, veteran associations, The Knights Templar’s, The Olympic Bid Committee and athletes at the Olympic village in 2002, numerous Irish and Scottish dance academies, College and University graduations and functions, The Utah Scottish Association, Golf Tournaments, Fund raisers, Burns suppers galore, over 1700 funerals, 400 weddings, and countless parades, family reunions, birthdays, memorials, farewells and homecomings. I’ve organized and produced major concerts for bagpipe bands and Celtic dance groups.
I have also competed at the highest level in individual piping, and have honed my craft and ability to "professional" levels within the pipe band community. With all of my experience playing the Great Highland Bagpipes, I’ve learned that what is most important is that the audience receive a performance tailor made for them. From birthday parties to funerals and everything in between, the performance must be just right for each individual event, but must also be played at the highest level of professionalism. Competition proficiency and performance profociency are different, and I can customize costuming and uniforming to reflect your event. I also have access to additional pipers, drummers, and Scottish as well as Irish dancers to customize your functions for a distinct and unique performance all played at the highest level of professionalism.
Contact me and let me make your event distinct and professional in a way that few other pipers have mastered.

Set list
Traditional Irish, Scottish and Welsh tunes. May be able to customize tunes for events. I have played Beatles tunes on my pipes for an event before, as well as many well know hymns. Bagpipes are limited by 9 notes, but I am willing to try and accommodate tune selection if it will transpose to pipes. Many Patriotic tunes transpose well, including the various Military Anthems the the 5 Branches of the Armed Forces.
Setup requirements
Bagpipes are highly portable and can be played virtually anywhere. Have pipes, will travel.
