My style is conversational and engaging—I want the audience to feel like we're all hanging out together, not like I'm just standing onstage talking at them. Depending on the event, I may interact with the crowd, incorporate details about the occasion, or personalize material to make the experience feel specific to the people in the room.

I talk about everything from family and dating to getting older, relationships, work, and the general confusion of being a grown adult who is still figuring things out.

Most importantly, I read the room. I can deliver clean, corporate-friendly or faith-friendly comedy when needed without sacrificing the laughs, and I can adjust my performance to fit the audience and occasion.

Ashley Preston is a stand-up comedian, host, and emcee based in Raleigh, North Carolina, bringing relatable storytelling, quick wit, and plenty of personality to stages and events of all kinds.

Performing stand-up since 2017, Ashley has entertained audiences at comedy clubs, festivals, theaters, corporate gatherings, nonprofit events, private celebrations, and community events. Her comedy finds the funny in dating, family, getting older, navigating adulthood, and the everyday experiences that make audiences say, “I KNOW somebody just like that.”

Ashley has performed at Goodnights Comedy Club and Raleigh Improv and has opened or featured for nationally touring comedians including Ian Lara, Carter Anderson, Damon Darling, Alex Velluto, Richy Leis, and Rami Abushhab. Her credits also include Don't Tell Comedy, the Bad Momz of Comedy Tour, the North Carolina Comedy Festival, and other regional festivals and showcases.

Ashley is also available as an event host and emcee. Her experience both onstage and behind the scenes as a comedy producer gives her an understanding of what it takes to keep an event moving, engage an audience, handle transitions, and adjust when live events inevitably decide not to follow the script.

My technical requirements are simple. For most performances, I need:

* A quality sound system appropriate for the size of the room
* A handheld microphone (wireless preferred)
* A designated performance area where I can be easily seen and heard by the audience
* Adequate lighting for the performance area

If your venue does not have a sound system, I can provide a portable PA system for smaller events for an additional fee starting at $25. Please let me know in advance if sound equipment will be needed so we can make sure the setup is appropriate for your event.

For larger venues or events, I’m happy to coordinate with your venue or AV team regarding sound and staging needs.
