My approach is that I'm a regular gal, with experiences and challenges like everyone else. In my presentations, I take everyday issues and explore insightful biblical study methods, providing examples of how to effectively use our Sword to respond to life's questions and heal from its challenges, as well as to thrive as a powerful, faith-filled women. My style of speaking is very conversational, energetic, humorous...and I'm very transparent - I share my life, victories, failures and all, as examples and applications of the things I teach. I'm dynamic, physical, I love to tell stories, I love props; we laugh, we cry and we walk away changed together!

Hi! I'm Amanda. I'm first and foremost a Christ-follower - but I also have the privilege of being a mama, a pastor's wife, a Bible teacher, and a blogger - I know what it is to struggle with finding my purpose, discontent, poor relationship decisions and unhealthy lifestyle habits. I've lived in the dirty, rough places, in the darkness. My testimony is all about how God can transform a life - when we offer Him a willing, teachable heart.

I have served professionally in adult ministry for 14 years, teaching Bible studies and coordinating ministry programs. Most recently, I founded Feathers for Flight, an online Bible study and discipleship resource. While my audience age range and composition is ever-varied, my passion is to empower adults, particularly women, to study the Word in a fresh way, taking cultural and historical and linguistic context and patterns into consideration, and then to truly apply biblical principles to our community through discipleship, mentorship and accountability. My call is to empower adults to experience passion and growth in their Christian walks by equipping them with a unique skill set of Bible study tools and methodologies. My goal is to break dependence on commentaries and pastors to "tell us what it means," and to build up our competence and confidence as we grow our ability to interpret Scripture with Scripture.

And He rewarded that willingness with profound understanding of Scripture. I want to share that, I desire that people know they can do this, that they can read, understand, and become proficient at understanding and living out the truth of the Bible - and find such true joy in it!

I can provide help with set design to accomodate theme. I typically bring props and illustrations, but don't rely too heavily on technology. I am very flexible!
