Alex Rashad-Saxophonist For Hire

Alex Rashad is an in-demand saxophonist/multi-instrumentalist and composer based in Los Angeles, California. Gigging and collaborating as a bandleader and sideman, Alex is proficient & active in a wide range of musical settings, and has worked across the country on several tours, club dates, late night appearances, and recording sessions with various artists.

Alex has worked and recorded with with Zoe Sparks, Chance Emerson, Ben Barnes, DJ Mustard, Terrace Martin, The Kid Laroi, as well as played several dates with Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge, including her late night debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Alex is the bass guitarist for rising singer-songwriter Reggie Pearl, and prominent local indie artist Brookelen, with recent sold out dates at The Echo and Gold Diggers Entertainment, respectively.

While studying for an undergraduate degree in Saxophone Performance at Berklee College Of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, Alex helped found the Boston Arts Academy Outreach Program through Berklee’s Institute Of Jazz And Gender Justice, with direction and mentorship from GRAMMY award winning musicians Terri Lyne Carrington and Kris Davis. Through this program, young musicians at BAA are able to meet with Berklee/JGJ students weekly for workshops, personalized lessons and rehearsal experience, as well as gain exposure to career paths/opportunities in the industry.

Upon moving to the west coast, Alex founded and subsequently taught the Instrumental Music program for 2 years at Libertas College Preparatory Charter Middle School in South Central Los Angeles. This program saw students learning bass, drums, piano, saxophone, general music theory, composition, featured various guest artists/educators and created performance opportunities for students around the greater Los Angeles area.

Alex’s “Action Replay” spoken word/jazz fusion quartet saw sold out dates at The Rhythm Room and the 2025 Echo Park Rising festival.

Alex's original contemporary jazz quartet projects were featured in the 2025 Angel City Jazz Festival, and headlined Scribble's 2nd Birthday Celebration featuring Nedra Wheeler, Devin Daniels, Isaiah Harwood and Maliq Wynn.

Along with renowned drummer Mike Barsimanto, Alex co-leads a jazz night residency at The Tuning Fork in Studio City, playing alongside musicians including Wil Blades, Michael Wolff, Alex Wolff, Jeff Babko, Mike Zilber and more.

Alex's debut solo album "Intrinsic" was released in June 2025 and is available on all streaming platforms.
