Very talented Sax player. Gave him a playlist, which he perfected (even though he had a collection of well known hits part of his collection. Fred was very professional. Communication was fluid. What to expect
i usually bring a boombox that plays backing tracks with the vocals taken out, and some i play to the the original recording such as "pick up the pieces" by AWB. If needed i can bring a medium sized sound system and run the sound thru that along with me going thru a microphone.I can play your music during breaks. I dont need much space since its just me. Sometimes i am asked to play just sax alone. I play 3 saxes 9alto,tenor, soprano and can bring flute and clarinet. Off my most recent CD i have backing tracks I can play to which covers a variety of styles.(look up "Steady Freadys Ready" on line to hear samples.. Also I am open to learn some tunes you desire.
About
Since performing professionally in my early 20's, I have done college big band jazz at North Texas State , and jazz combos in Madison , Wisconsin,then r&b ,funk,top 40 bands in the Oakland, Berkeley area. Then in LA jazz coffee house gigs, Latin bands, my own jazz funk group at Jax Restaurant in Glendale for over 10 years, and since last year solo sax with backing tracks .
I have recorded and / or performed with 5 members of Tower of Power, jazz pianist Benny Green , Les Claypool, Eddie Money, Mike Bloomfield , worked with bassists for Kenny G, Ronnie Laws, Sly Stone, Dave Koz ,Yani/ worked with guitarists for the Pinter Sisters, Helen Ready,Michael Jackson, drummers for Maynard Furgeson, Eddie Kimmel Show,Edgar Winter,and more ,
I have 3 cds available on internet with a new single just released, Also I have 35 videos under my name "fred horn" on you tube
