Alec Hutson is a musician of multitudes. The multi-instrumentalist (guitar, sax, and piano) and multihyphenate (singer-songwriter-player-producer-videographer) Hutson, a compulsive student of masters past, stirs a spicy blend of old and new-school influences in his bubbling musical cauldron. Within you’ll find sultry soul and funk and folk, the ineffable indie-ness of Jeff Buckley and Jose Gonzalez, the raw punchy power of Lake Street Dive and Radiohead. Altogether, the amalgamation lends his intricate, innovative tunes a warm, near-eerie familiarity. And the end result? “A groovy indie sound that’s both catchy and contemplative” (WBUR ARTery).

January 8, 2024My husband and I hired Alec for our intimate backyard wedding at a restaurant in Brooklyn. Alec was so lovely and easy to work with from start to finish. He learned a couple songs for us, which were beautiful to hear in person. I would absolutely recommend working with Alec, and I hope to hire him again in the future!

February 8, 2022Alec did an amazing job playing our wedding. He played an acoustic set for our ceremony and sang for the cocktail hour. He created an atmosphere that was everything we hoped for - warm, inviting, and filled with beautiful sound. We loved it, and got so many compliments from our guests and family. Alec was so easy to work with, and I can’t recommend him enough. He is incredibly talented, flexible, and is a delightful partner in making an event go smoothly.

Alec's music and performance are arresting and engaging. A mix of soulful vocals with intricate finger-picked guitar and pulsing rhythm of foot percussion, this performance is truly one-of-a-kind. Expect a seasoned musician who shows up early, communicates clearly and quickly, and is easy to work with on every level. Can provide a PA system for certain events.

For most events, I will require 2 DI inputs and two microphones/stands.
If the plan involves me bringing my own equipment, then all I require is a reliable power source and a flat surface to set up on.
